The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, ^cting /Attorney Taylor
and ~leric Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following were granted:
C. L. Johnson, Construct Dwelling, Lot 9, Block 292, Townsite

John Bee, Remodel Home, Lot 13, Block 418, Townsite

Under the head of Unfinished Business:
The City Cleric reported that pursuant to published call, the following
bids for the purchase of cast iron pipe were on file:

The bids were openand and referred to t he Superintendent of Utili ties for checking and report back to the
Comnission.
Under the head'~f Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port !Angeles is the mmer of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated May I, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9395 of
Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 pf the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:
Commencing at the southeast corner of Sub. Lot 10 in the Townsite of Port,
Angeles, sad point being on the north line of Second Street in said Townsite
and extending in a westerly direction along the north line of Second Street
150 feet; thence at right angles in a northerly direction of 140 feet to an
alley; thence turning a t right angles and extending easterly along the south
line of sac.d alley a distance of 156 feet; then:: e at right angles in a souther-
ly direction 140 feet to t he point of beginning, and described on the Tax Roll
as. Tax No. 506 in Suburban Lot No. 10 of the Townsite of Port Angeles, Washing-
ton. lhis deed is given to amplify the description of the property in that
certain Treasurer's deed, No. 1359, Wm. liilliam as Treasurer of Clallam County,
Washington, to the City of Port Angeles, dated February 17, 1939, and recorded
in VolUllle 111 of Treasurer's needs on page 607 of the Records of said County, and
WHEREAS, Paul W. Blatter has offered to purchase from ~he City of Port lAngeles the above described real
property for the sum of $500.00, payable as follows: i75.oo as a down payment and $25.00 on or before the
1st day of June, 1940, and $25.00 on or before the 1st day of each and every month thereafter until paid
in full. Interest to be computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due and paid with the monthly
installments, and
WHEREAS, The City Comnission has viewed the said property and isof the opinion that the offer is fair
value and is inexcess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, in-
cluding interest and other charges against the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Paul W. Blatter for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to
any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the loity of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued inter-
est thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by.Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted sye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:

The Commission then adjourned to meet Saturday, !.lay 4, 1940, at 10:00 A.M.
