"f"Tn., ftTATI!lH..... ..INT'U.-ll'.flll The Commission met pursuant to adjourmnent at 2:50 P.M. and was called to order by ~yor Davis. Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioners Henson and Masters and Clerl< Hawkins . Under the head of Unfinished Business,- The Engineer having checked the bids to furnish 6000 cu. yds. of Gravel ~or Mineral Aggregate Light Bituminous Treatment and 1000 cu. yds. of Gravel for Mineral Aggregate Non-Skid Seal Treatment, reported that Ni~ols & Owens and J. D. Shotwell had each bid $5700.00 to furnish the 6000 cu. yds. of gravel, 4,elivery to be made at their respective plants. The round trip haul from the Nichols & Owens plant being 8 miles and the round trip haul from J. D. Shotwell plant being 20 miles. Therefore, on account of the difference in the cost of hauling, the City Engineer recOllll1lended that the bid of Nichols & Owens be accepted. After due consideration it was moved by Commissioner Masters that the bid of Nichols & Owens be accepted and the contract lIlI"rded to them. Seconded by Commissioner Henson. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. The Supt. of Utili ties having checked the bids for the purchase of 1 Line Construction Truck as they are shown on page 51 of VoL ID of COmmissioners' Proceedings, recommended the purchase of a F.W.D. Truck with Graybar body and M.M. Winch as this equipment is particularly adopted to the requirements of the department. After due consideration it was moved by Comnissioner Henson that the bid of the Paris Motor Com~, $4278.48 for a F.W.D. Truck with Graybar body and M.M. Winch, be accepted and said equipment be purchased of the Paris Motor Company. Motion seconde<i by Comnissioner Masters. On roll call all members voted aye. ~e Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of New Business,- / The City Clerk was instructed to issue a call for bids for pipe for the Water department, bids to'be received until 10 A.M., May 16, 1959. lohe City Commission reserves the right.t~ rejec~ any' or aU bids.
