The Commission met Dursuant to adjournment at 10 a.m. and was called to order by gayor
Davis. Roll call showed the following officers present. mayor Davis,Commissioners Beam
and Filion,Attorney Plummer and Clerk Hawkins.
Under the Head of New Business, the following resolution was introduced,-

DAYLIGHT SAVING TI~~
;lliERE~S it has become the custom ,in many localities to advance the time during the
summer m~nths to conserve as much daylight as possible after the close of the day's
,work, and
rmEREAS~ it is deemed desirable to conserve the daylight hours so as to provide more
time .for recreation and home development, and
VlliEREA~, many adjacent communities in Westwrn Washington have already adopted such
time changes which are commonly known as Daylight Saving Time, which changes on account
of transportation schedules and communication:make it desirable and convenient for the
City of ~ort Angeles to adopt such time changes, and
VlliEREAS. there appears to be strong desire on the part of the citizens for the
admption of Daylight Saving Time,
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C01~1ISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES That
the city adopt for the summer months of 1933 the. time change and adjustment commonly
known as Daylight Saving Time, and that the official municipal time for said city be
advanced one hour,
BE IT FURTHSR RESOLVED That the hour of two o'clock,a.m.,on Sunday,May 7,1933, is
hereby fixed as the time for making such change which shall be accomplished by advancing
clocks from two o'clock,a.m. ,to three o'clock,a.m.,at said time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That this time adjustment shall be maintained and continued
until 2 o'clock,a.m., on Sunday, the 24th.day of September,1933,at Ylhich .time the said
clocks shall be turned back one hour.
It was moved by Mayor Davis that the foregoing resolution be adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion
carr ied .
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn
for same,-
Street Department
Current Expense Fund
Pay roll
:$ 210.37
There being no further business the Commission then adjourned.
