Other Officers present were: Councilmen Smith, Sandison, Maxfield, Thorne and Caldwell. Manager Slankard, Attorney Moffett and Clerk Law. It was moved by Councilman Maxfield that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Thome and carried. I 'II Under the head of unfinished business, Councilman Caldwell as Chairman of Appraisal Committee reported ;on investigation, of Lots 1 to 10 in Block 357. The Committee recommended that minimum be $150.00 per Lot II 'plus Taxe~ and assessments. It was moved by Councilman Thorne that recommendation be accepted and Ii minimum fIxed at $150.00 per Lot plus Taxes and assessments. Seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried. , I The City Engineer submitted the fourth (April) estimate for work done and rraterial furnished by J. D. SHOTWEi.L COMPANY in L.I.D. No. 179: II J. D. SHOTWELL CO. Fourth Est. (April) $33,000.00 J.D, SHOTWELL CO.. Fixed Est. (Apr) $6,000.0& It was moved by Councilman Maxfield that the periodic estimate (April), be approved and warrants issued II against L.I.D. No. 179 Fund in total amount of $39,000.00. bearing interest at the rate of 43/4% per annum, dated May 12, 1960, the proceeds to be deposited In the L.1.D No. 179 Construction Fund and that a warrant be issued on said Construction Fund in favor of the Contractor in payment for work performed. Motion seconded by Councilman Thorne and unanimously carried. Progress payments for labor and material furnished on water reservoir construction were approved as follows: HAROLD KAESER COMPANY, $26,975.01. It was moved by Councilman CaldS\lell that the claim be '., approved and paid. Seconded by Councilman Thorll'e and carried. II DEL GUZZI CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, $49,607.55. It was moved by Councilman Smith that claim I, be approved and paid. Seconded by Councilman Sandison and carried. III ,The City Manager read report and recommendations concerning services of a Consulting Engineer in connection I'With greater capacity from City Light Sub-stations. It was recommended that Thomas E. Sparling be engage,d I on hourly basis. Councilman Maxfield moved that recommendation be accepted and the City engage the i services of Mr. Sparling in connection with increased capacity of City Sub-stations. Seconded by Councilma Caldwell and carried. I The Council considered preliminary drawings for construction of a City Light service building. It was moved by Councilman Thorne that the City enter into agreement for making plans and specifications and cost estimat , if the same' are approved, authorize call for bids for a:mstruct1on. Seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried. Under the head of new business, one request for transfer of Beverage Linense was received: Rose's Place Tavern from Loren J. Cooke to Nadir, Inc. It was moved by Councilman Smith that the transfer be approved. Seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. Clailms payable were approved in amounts of: General Funds, $3,847.82. Water Fund, $20,758.65. IPiPeline Fund, $6,539.19. Light Fund. $30,417.75. It was moved by Councilman Thorne that all clairris be approved and paid. Seconded by Councilman Smith and carried. II'It was moved by Councilman Caldwell that Payrolls for April in total amount of $52,149.59 be approved as paid. Seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried.
