The Conmission met pursuant to a djounment at 10:00 a .m. and was called 1m order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: !l.ayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, IJIttorney. Conniff and
Clerk Hawkins.
Under the head of Applications for Building permits the following were granted:
Mrs. !l.aude ~ver, Construct Garage, Lot 10, Block 526, Townsite
Ralph L. Rowland, Build House, Sub. Lot 54
Catherine S. Cully, Remodel House, Lot 5, Block 52, Townsite

1 The annual Public Library Statistical Report presented to the Commission by the Librarian, was read and
dered returned to the fUes of the Library.
I Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following Resolutions were introduced:
I RESOlUTION
: WHEREAS, The City of Port l\ngeles is the owner of the following described real pronerty, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated April, 19, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9593
of Remington's Revised S'ostutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:
Lots Five (5), Six (6), Seven (7), Eight (8), Thirteen (13), Fourteen (14),
Fifteen (15) and Sixteen (16), Block Two Hundred Fifty-one (251), Townsite
of Port Angeles, Clallan County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, J. H. Kyle ha S offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles
for the sum of $260.00, and
\VffEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the said offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale
made.
I, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port ~ngeles sell the
: said property at private sale to the sald J. H. Kyle for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any
I other valid liens against the samei that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he
io hereby instructed to ccuntersign said quit claim deed. I

RESOLUTION
TO SELL PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY FOftECLOSURE
The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the fcllowing described property in the City of Port
to-wit:
Lot EJ.even (11), Block One Hundred Nine (109) of the Townsite of Port Angeles,
Clallam County, Wa ShingtOll,
which said prcperty has been acquired by the qty on foreclosure of delinquent local improvenent assess-
, ments under Chapter, 205 of the Session Laws of 1927, and
\VHEREAS, Mrs. George ~. Grant has offered to ~rchase the above described real property from the City of
Port Angeles for the sum of $150.00, payable as follows: '$15.00 as a down payment and $5.00 on or before
the 6th day of June, 1940, and .$5.00 cn or before the 6th day of each and every month thereafter until
paid in full. hterest at the rate of 7% per annum to be computed on the balance due and paid with the
monthly installment, and
WHEREAS, The City Ccmmission has viewed the said property and is cf the opinion that the offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the vity that it should be accepted and the sale
made.
NOW, THEHEFORE, BE IT RESOlLVED, That the said cffel' be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell to
the said property at private sale to the said Mrs. George S. Grant for the sum hereinabove set forth, sub-
ject to an,y valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed tc prepare a deed conveying
said property tc the purchaser, and the CDY Treasurer be authorized to execute the said deed in accord-
ance with the provisions of this resoluticn and Olapter 275, Session Laws cf 1927, when the purchase
price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the Jloregcing resoluticn be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind, an roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried..
RESOIllTION
TO SELL PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY FORECLOSURE
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the fcllo~~ng described property in the City of Port
Angeles, to-wit:
Lot TWelve (12), Block One Hundred Nine (109) cf the townsite of Port Angeles,
Clallam County, Washington,
which said property has been acquired by the City on foreclosure of dalinquent local improvement assess-
ments under chapter 205 of the Session Laws of 1927, and
WHEHEAS, Mrs. George S. Grant has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of
Port Angeles for the sum of :$135.00, payable as follows: $10.00 as a down payment and $5.00 on or before
the 6th day of June, 1940, and $5.00 on or before the 6th day of each and every month thereafter until
paid in full. Interest at the rate of 7% per annum tc be computed on the balance due and paid with the
monthly installment, and
WHEREAS, The, City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the Vity that it should be accepted and the sale
made.

said property at private sale to the said Mrs. George 10. Grant for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject

said property to the purchaser, and the City Treasurer be authorized to execute the said deed in accord-
ance with the provisions of this resolution and Chapter 275, Sessicn Laws of 1927, when the purchase

The City. Clerk was instructed to make a call for bids to furnish the City with gravel for use in manufac-
turing Mineral Aggregate for Light Bituminous and Non-Skid Seal Surface Treatment for roads. Bids to be
received untillla.y 22, 1940, at 10:00 a.m.. The City Commission reserves the right tc reject any ald all
bids.
