The Commission ~et in regular session at 10 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Comnissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and
Clerk Hawkins.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted:
Mrs. R. ft. Huff, Remodel House, Lot 3, Block 297, Townsite
Ray Kidd, Construct House, Lot 10 Block 291, Townsite
J. H. Beaver, Remodel House, Lots 5 & 6, Block 35 N. h. Smith Subd.
J. R. Fredericks, Construct House, S! Lots 8 & 9, Block 331, Townsite
R. E. Carroll, Master Plumber, to June 30, 1940
Under the head of ~ports from City Officers the following was read:

Gentlemen:
I herewith submit the third and final estimate (April) of work done and material furnished by
Caven Plumbing Co., on the City Playfie1d plumbing contract.
100% of contract price of jcb of $1634.00 - - - $1634.00
Less previous estimates - - - 1552.30
Amount due contractor $ 81. 70

It was moved by Commissioner Lind that the foregoing final estimate be approved and the City "lerk be
instructed to issue a warrant in the sum of $81.70 to James W, Caven, the "ontractor. Seconded by
Commis sioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following ordinance was read by title and placed
on its third reading and adopted:
AN ORDINANCE setting forth and emergency affecting the public health and safety; requiring expenditures
unforeseen; providing for the issuance of emergency warrants; and declaring an emergency making the
ordinance immediately effective.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading an:! adopted.
Seconded by Comrnissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. I
Under the head of New Business:
A proposal of U. M. Lauridsen to make a gift of concrete posts to be used as markers for certain street
intersections in the City of Port Angeles came up for consideration. It was moved by Commissioner Lind
that the gift be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. l'he
Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Commission exallined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
