Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Wasbington

The Commission met pursuant to adjournment at 10 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the follOYing officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and
Clerk Hav.1cins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following were granted:
Davidson & Hay Hospital, Remodel Building, Lot 2, Block 34, TOVo'IlSite
D. F. Janzen, Remodel House, Lot 19, Block 93, Townsite
Aimee lenctot, Build Addition, Lot 17 & W! Lot 18, Block 113, Townsite
Russell Smith, Build House, Lot 16, Block 344, Townsite

Under the head of New Businesa:
Mayor Beetle subnitted the name of Dr. R. L. Gilliam for appointment as Meat Inspector. It was moved by
Commissioner Lind that the foregoing appointment be confirmed. Seconded by Commissioner Beam. en roll
call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolutions were introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed, dated May 15, 1941, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9593 of
Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lots five (5) and Six (6), Block Seventeen (17) of Thompson and Goodwin's Subdivision
of the West one half of Suoo.rban Lot 2, Port Angeles Townsite, and
WHEREAS, J. E. Giles has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real
property for the sum of $400.00, payable as follows: $40.00 as a down payment and $10.00 on or before
the 20th day of June, 1941, and $10.00 on or before the 20th day of each and every month thereafter until
paid in. full, together with interest computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due and paid
with the monthly- installments, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and at this time it is the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles.sell the
said property at private sale to the said J. E. Giles for the sum heI'einabove set fortn, subject to any ,I
other valid liens against the same; that the city Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed '
conveying said property to the purcdlaser, and that the City Clerk of the City ~f Port Angeles be and he is I
hereby instructed to execute saia quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the "ity of POI't Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed, when the purchase price and all accrued '
interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On rolloall allmembers voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed, dated May 7, 1941, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of
Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:
Lot Twelve (12), Block Fourteen (14) of the '.ownsite of Port !!Ingeles, Washington, and
WHEREAS, Thomas T. Aldwell has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real
property for the sum of $1000.00, payable as follows: $200.00 as a down payment and $15.00 on or before
the 10th day of June, 1941, and $15.00 on or before the 10th day of each and every month thereafter until
paid in full, together with interest computed at the rate of 7% per annum on balances due and paid with
the monthly installments, and
WHEREAS, It is further agreed that the City will make a fill for sidewalks in front of Lots Eleven (11)
and Twelve (12), Block Fourteen (14), Townsite of Port iPngeles and the said Thomas T. Aldwell will con-
struct a cement sidewalk in front of said lots under specifioations and supervision furnished by the City
Engineer; the time limit for the c9mpletion of the sidewalks to be fixed by the City Engineer, and
Yl1lEREAS, The City Comnission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and at this time it is the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the ,
said property at private sale to the said Thomas T. Aldwell for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to I
any- other valid liens against the same; that the City ./l.ttorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed I
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port .Il.ngeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is ,hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued
interest haa been paid in full and all terms and conditions herein speoified have been complied with.
It was moved by Co11Dllissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The M'If or declared the motion carried.

WHEREAS, 'Ihe City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed, dated May 20, 1941, under and by virtue of the a uthority of Section 9:595 of
Remingtcn's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lot Ten (10), Block 1hree Hundred Thirty-one (531) of the 'ownsite of Port Angeles,
Washington, and
WHEREAS, Frederick H. Amundson has offered to purchase from the City- of Port Angeles the above described
real property for the SUlll of $150.00, and

WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments,
including interest and other charges against the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Frederick H. Amundson for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject
to any other valid liens against the sams; that the City ~ttorney be instructed to prepare aquit claim
deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be, and
he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be,
and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued
interest thereon has been paid in full.

the s ame by Treasurer's deed, dated May 20, 1941, under and by virtue of the authority of Sectton 9395 of
Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lots Fifteen (15) and Sixteen (15), Block Two Hundred Eighty-nine (289) of the
Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington, and
WHEREAS, Charles I. Watts has offered to purchase from the l.ity of Port Angeles the above desoribed real
property for the sum of $300.00, payable as follows: $50.00 as a d own payment and $15.00 on or before the
20th day of June, 1941, and $1.5.00 on or before the 20th day of each and every month thereafter until paid
in full, together with interest on monthir balances at the rate of 7% per anmum, and
WHEREAS, The City "onmissioners have viewed the said property and are of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, in-
cluding interest and other charges against the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said offer be accepted and tbat the City of Port Angeles sell the said
property at private sale to the said Charles I. Watts for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any
other valid liens against the same; that the City attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed con-
veying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he
is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest
thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call aU members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
