IThe Commission met in regular session at 10 A.I.,., and was called to order by Mayor Epperson. Roll Call of
Officers showed the following present: Mayor Epperson, Commissioners Johnson and Steele, Attorney Vlilson,
and Clerk Law.

',Attorney Severyns informed the Commission that the P. A. Boat Club is moving their boats from Ediz Hook
! property, and requested permission to transfer sub-lease to Rayonier, Inc., to be used for mooring logs.
! The Commission had no objections if transfer is approved by Government owner. Mr. Severyns also informed
that the Housing Authority has approved Veterans purchasing surplus buildings in Bremerton to be moved on
lots purcbased here and requested City to sell lots at cost. Commissioner Steele informed that the City has
been selling lots practically at cost and will be priced the same to Veterans.

IMrs. Downing and others presented a petition requesting larger water main in the
near Cedar Street. Commissioner Johnson informed that pipe line will be checked
,material iaonot available.
Mr. O'Day of the Shell Oil Co., explained the use of D D T for insect control, and it was moved by Corrmissio~r
Steele that the City purchase amount necessary for City use from the said Company at 44~ per pound. Motion 1,1
! seconded by Mayor Epperson. All members voted Aye. The motion carried. I

iUnder the head of unfinished business, and pursuant to bids published for City printing for the year 1947-48;,
'I ,the one liid submitted by the P. A. Evening News was opened and read as follows: Seven cents (7~) per non- 'I
pareilline, single column measure. Tabulated matter also at seven cents (7~) per line, single column measure,
i for each insertion unless published only one time, in which case the rate will be twelve cents, (12~) per I
11ine, single column measure. It was moved by Comissioner Steele that the bid as submitted be accepted. I

It was also moved by Mayor Epperson that bids be published for construction of City
fire Hall, bids to be opened June 25, 1947. Specifications to be obtained from the
City Clerk'S office or the office of Chiarelli and Kirk of Seattle. Motion seconded
by Comissioner Steele. All members voted Aye. Motion carried. I
IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 149
First: That it is the intention of the City Commission of the C1 ty of Port
Angeles to order the following described improvements along the following described
portions of streets in the City of Port Angeles: I
The construction of concrete sidewalks in front of and along the following described lots:

! BE rr RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES:
First~ That it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles to order the following

The construction of concrete sidewalks on both sides of Eighth Street from the easterly margin
of E Street easterly to the west end of the Twm~ter Creek Bridge.

Second: That all persons who desire to object thereto are hereby notified to appear and present such
I objections at a meeting of the City Commission to be held in the City Commissioner's room on the second . i

'1947, at 10 o'clock A.M. of said day, which time and place is hereby fixed for hearing on matters relating

It was moved by Corrunissioner Johnson that the foregoing resolutions be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Steele. All members voted Aye. The motion carried.
