II ROLL CALL ..... Members Present: Mayor Sargent, Councilmen Gabriel, Hallett, Lemon, Nicholson, Ostrowski. Members Absent: Councilman Wight (excused). Staff Present: Manager Flodstrom. Public Present: None. III VII SUSPENDED VIII LEGISLATION 1. Consideration of Lead Agency Status for the Port Angeles Centennial Trail Project Mayor Sargent stated that both she and Manager Flodstrom have met with representatives from the County, Peninsula Trails Coalition, Representa- tive Evan Jones, and other State representatives to discuss this issue. The meeting was held to discuss funding of the project and to establish a lead agency. She made note of a letter received from the County in support of the city of Port Angeles taking the position of the lead agency for the acquisition of funds for the Port Angeles Centennial Trail. If the City should agree to be the lead agency, the first action should be to notify the State of the decision and begin the grant application process. If successful in receiving a grant, the City would be required to match the grant, either on a 50/50 basis in 1990, and/or a 75/25 basis in 1991. Following a short discussion on the issue, Councilman Nicholson moved that the City of Port Angeles be the lead agency in the Port Angeles Centennial Trail Project. Councilman Hallett seconded the motion, which carried unanimous ly. Mayor Sargent read the resolution by title, entitled RESOLUTION NO. 8-90 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Port Angeles authorizing the Mayor to submit a grant application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation as provided by SB 6417, in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) to finance acquisition of property for the development of the Centennial Trail portion of the Olympic Discovery Trail. Councilman Ostrowski moved to pass the Resolution as read by title. Councilman Nicholson seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. IX ADJOURNMENT Councilman Hallett moved to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Lemon seconded the motion, which carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:05 P.M. / -1-
