The Connnission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the folloWing members present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and
Clerk Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following was granted:
Arne Frederickson, ~ddition to house, Lot 11, Block 304, lownsite
125.00
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced:
P.ESOLUTION
TO SELL PROPERTY ACWIRED BY FORECLOSURE
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the follmting described property in the Gity of Port
Angeles, to-wit:
Lot Fourteen (14), Block One Hundred Fourteen (114) of the . ownsi te of Port Angeles. Clallam
COUD ty, Wa shington,
which said property has been acquired by the GUyon foreclosure of delinquent local improvement assess-
ments under Chapter 205 of the Session Laws of 1927, and
WHEREAS, Floyd E. Oakes has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the sum of $40.00, and
VlliEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the op~ll1on that the offer is fair
value and that at this. time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the
sale made.
N011, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
, said property at private sale to the said Floyd E. Oakes for the sum hereinabo're set forth, subject to any
valid liens against the same; that the City "ttorney be instructed to pre;>are a deed conveying said said
property to the purchaser, and the City Treasurer be, and she is hereby authorized to execute the said
deed in accordance with the provisions of this resolution and Chapter 2.75, Session Laws of 1927, when the
purchase price has been paid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The ~ayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Nev, Business:
The City Clerk was instructed to issue a call for bids for the purcha se of lighting equipment for the
Playfield. Bids to be received wctll 10:00 LM., June 5, 1940. The City Corrmission reserves the right
to reject any and all bids.

The City reported that pursuant to published call, the following

aggregate for Bituminous surface treatment for streets.
