Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington

The Commission met in regular session at 10 !A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor !:leetle, COITh"1lissioners Beam and Lind and Attorney Conniff.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following were granted:
Floyd Hayne, Builc Addition to Home, Lot 9, Blocl 228, Townsite
Harry Moore, Remodel Home, Lot 1, Block 225, Townsite

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the foDowing resolutions were introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port iAngeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated May 23, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Seotion 9593 of
Reminton's Revised statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lot Five (5), Block Two Hundred Forty-eight (248), of the Townsite of Port lAngeles,
Clallam County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, William H. Cox has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the sum of $37.50, and
VffiEREAS, the City Commission hss viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the' offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it sho'iLd be accepted and the
sale made.
NOW, ~KEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said William H. Cox for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any
other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed '
conveying said property to the purohaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be arid he
is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the Gity of Port Angeles be
and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed,
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved an:l adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all menbers voted aye. The Ma.'or declared the motion carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City Gf Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed, dated I!.ay 23, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9393 of
Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lot Six (6), Block Two Hundred Forty-eight (248), of the Townsite of Port
Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, Ernest L. Rotheroe has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of
Port Angelles for the sum of $37.50, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the ofrer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.LD. assessments,
including interest and other charges against the same.
NOW, TREREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be acceopted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the I
said property at private sale to the said Ernest L. Rotheroe for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject
to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim
deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of, Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the "ity of Port Angeles
be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried,
Under the head of Unfinished Business:
The matter of the bids to furnish gravel for the manufacturing of material for surfacing roads came up
for further consideration and was laid over for one week.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
