Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor ~eetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the last session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted: L. C. Lamberson, move house, Lot 6, Block 74, Townsite R. V. Rigg, Build Apartment & Garage, Lot 6, Block 295, Townsite Crystal Baths, Bath House License Porl Angeles Poster, Bill Poster License D. J. Judy, Journeyman Plumber . 200.00 7000.00 25.00 25.00 . 2.50 Police Judge, W. F. Phillips, rsported 57 cases tried and, $558.00 collected in fines for the month of May, 1941. Report ordered filed. Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the followir.g ordinance passed its third reading and was adopted: ' AN ORDINANCE relating to the unlawful wearing of the uniform of the United States Amy, Navy, Marine Corps,,' and Coast Guard; defining offences, prescribing penalties; and declaring an emergency. I It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing ordinr.nce b,e placed on its final reading and adopted. , Seconded by Commissioner !.ind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried" Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolutions were introduced: RESOLUTION I WHEREA.S, The City of Port ~ngeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired , the same by Treasurer's deed dated October 15, 1957, under and qy virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: Lot Fifteen (IS), Block Clne Hundred Nine (109), Townsite of Port Angeles, WaShington, and WHEREAS, E. La Casse has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real prop- erty for the sUm of $140.00, payable as follows: $105.00 as a down payment and $5.00 on or before the 5th day of July, 1941, and $5.00 on or before the 5th day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full, together with interest at the rate of 7% per annum on monthly balances and paid with the monthly installments, and VffiEREAS, lhe City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and at this time it is the best interest of the Gi ty that it should be accepted and the sale made. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said propert)" at private sale to the said E. La Casse for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other! valid liens against the same; that thc City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying I said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port ~geles be and he is hereby i instructed to execute said ~uit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port ~geles be and he is hereqy instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the folloWing described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed dated June 3, 1941, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: Lot 'hirteen (15), Block One Hundred Twenty-nine (129), Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington, And WHEREAS, Harold P. Knott has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real property for the sum of $100.00, payable as follows: $10.00 as a down payment and $10.00 on or before July 1, 1941, and $10.00 on or before the first day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full, together with interest at the rate of 7% per annum on monthly balances and paid with the monthly install- ment, and WHEREAS, Lhe City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and that at this time it is the best interest of the City that it should be aocepted and the sale made. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port ~eles sell the said property at private sale to the said Harold P. Knott for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against thesame; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full. RESOL UTI ON WHEREAS, l'he ,City of Port .!Angeles is the owner of the following desoribed real property, having ac-{uired th,~ same by Treasurer's deed dated Mpril 29, 1941, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9593 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit: Lot Eleven (ll), Block Two Hundred Ninety-one(291), townsite of Port ,Angeles, Washington, and WHEREAS, Walter Christensen has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real property for the sum of $500.00, p.ayable as follows: $50.00 as adown payment and $10.00 on or before (filly 1, 1941, and $10.00 on or before the 1st day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full, together with intercst at the rate of 7% per annum on monthly balances and paid with the monthly install- Itent, and ~~EREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, in- cluding interest and other charges ag.inst the same. Under the 'head of New Business: A petition signed qy Louis Gebhardt and 14 other property owners, was read, petitioning the City Commission to create a local improvement district for the construction of a lateral sewer in the alley, conmencing at the westerly margin of Block 2, Aldwell's Subdivision of Suburban Lot 55 of the Townsite of Port ~geles; thence easterly through the alley to the cast margin of Block No. 142, Townsite of Port Angeles. The said petition was referred to the City Engineer to determine ownership of the property affected and prepare a statement showing the cost of the proposed improvement.
