The Commission met in l'egular session at 10:00 A.M., and was called to ol'del' by Mayol' Feeley. Officers p:-esent were: Mayor Feeley, Commissioners Robinson and Taylor, Attorney Tl'umbull, and Clel'k.Law. Minutes of the pl'evious session were l'ead and approved. Under the head of applications for building permits and licenses, the following were granted: . o. After short discussion regarding suggested alterations, it was moved by Mayor Feeley that the architect be instructed to proceed with plans and specifications subject to minor changes as recollllIlended by Chief Ide. ~[otion seconded by Commissionel' Robinson. All voted Aye. M.otion cal'1"1 ed. Gundar Iverson and others met with the Commission and l'enewed request for improveJaSnt of water service on I Tenth Street \~est of "I" Street. Supt. Dodge informed that purchase and delivery of material is very I indefinite. That Johns-Manville Corp. is sold out through September and the balance of year may be taken for military requirements. E. N. Hallgl'en for American Cast hon Pipe Company could make no deliveries from Seattle and factory deliveries would requil'e 260 days subject to Govel'nment priorities.. It was the , opinion of Commissioner Taylor and Ml". Dodge that the eight inch line could be extended on "I" St~eet from Eighth Street to Tenth Stl'eet, using matel'ial now in stock. After fUl'ther discussion, it was decided to make the extension immediately following the Ediz Hook project. The Commission instructed that the Water Supt. prepare calls for bids for material necessary to replace water mains, date of publication and opening to be decided at the next session. I Under the head of new business, the Park Board l'equested in writing that the Commission provide for a caretaker and water chal"ges for the remainder of the year 1951 at Pinehill playfield after the same is , taken over by the City. Amount requested were $1,770.00 for labor and $60.00 for water. It was moved by , Coi'!llnissioner Taylor that the Attorney be instructed to prepare an emergency ordinance provi(\ing amounts I as- requested. Seconded by Mayor Feeley. All voted Aye.
