Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington

Tne City Commission convened in regular session at 10:00 A.M., and Vias called to order by Mayor Feeley.
Officers present were; Mayor ,'eeley, Commissioners Robinson and Taylor, Attorney Trumbull and Clerk law.
Minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of appli~lltions for building permits the following were granted:

.Under the head of unfinished msiness, bids submitted for City printing for the year commencing July 1, 1949.
,were again considered. It was moved by Commissioner Robinson that the bid be awarded to the Olympic Tribune;
as required by Statutes governing, cited by the City Attorney. Motion seconded b;r Commissioner Taylor. All I
voted Aye. Motion carried.
Urder the head of neVi business, Mr. Bellinger appeared regarding changing the name of Valley Street to I
I'Ksnt Street. The Commission advised that petition should be presented requesting the change. Mr. Bellinger
also requested information regarding water main at 14th & M Streets. A request in writing will oe filed '
'specifying size of main and amount of service required.
Dr. Bonde1id, chairman of the Park Board and Mr,. .Glann of School I;istrict No.7, met with the Commission
'regarding the recreational and athletic program. The Park Board also requested in writing that the program
100' continued. Chairman Bondelid was instructed to f~x a date for a meeting at which will te represented the
'Commission, Park Board and School District No.7. The group Vlill at this time endeavor to formulate a plan I
for continuation of the recreational program.
Harr;,' LaGear representing Cla11am County Grange members, requested that Sixteenth Street from C Street to
lithe Fairgrouuis be improved. Commissioner "aylor referred the request to Engineer Ahlvers, who reported
I,that the street is in fair condition and will be maintained, also liquor used to lay the dust.
A ~etter from Bernard Neary, Supt. of Queen of Angels School, expressed desire of the trustees of the
school to purchase Lots 11 and 12 in Block 292, Tovmsite, for playground. The letter was filed and will be
'considered at the meeting wi th the Park Board.
The report of Police Judge Phillips for the month of May, 1949, showing $1,111.00 fines collected, was
approved and ordersd filad.
