Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington

I The Collll\ission met in regular session at 10 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Robinson. Roll call
shewed the following officers present: Mayor Robinson, Commissioners Beam and Masters, Attorney Johnston,
and alerkHswkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted:
Pete Nelson, Garage, Lot 6, Block 4, Cain's Subd. of Suburban Lot 18
A, M. iCumnings, Reroof Bui.lding, Lot 1, Block 25, N. "'. "'mith's Subd.
Little Brick Tavern, Soft Drink License
John P. 4'nch, Peddler'S License, :I. day (June 9th)

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolutions "ere introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City Colllllission on May 5, 1943, adopted a resolution authorizing the sale of the hereinafter
described real property to Harris E. Purvis; the said resolution being recorded in Volume 20, Page 525 of
Commissioners Proceedings:
Lots Five (5) and Six (6), Block Three Hundred Thirty-two (332), Townsite
of Port Angeles, Washington, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the said HarrisE. Purvis had desired to only purchase Lot 5 instead of Lots 5 and
6, Block 532, Townsite of Port Angeles as set forth in the resolution referred to above providing for said
sale. The sale price of said lot to be fixed at $150.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said resolution hereinabove referred to, be recinded, and the City
Clerk be instructed to prepare a resolution authorizing the sale of Lot 5, Block 532, Townsite of Port
Angeles to the said Harris E. Purvis for the sum of $150.00.
It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seco.nded by
Commissioner Beam. <<In roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
RESOILUTION
WllEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated April 29, 1943, under and by virtue of the authorit,y of Section 9393,
Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lot Five (5), Block Three Hundred Thirty-two (332), Townsite of Port
Angeles, Washington, am
WHEREAS, HarrisE. Puvis has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the sum of 1150.00, payable as follows: $50.00 as a down payment and $10.00 on or before
June 15, 1943, and $10.00 on or before the 15th day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full,
i together with interest on monthly balances ,at the rate of 7% per ammm and paid 1(ith the monthly install-
ments, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale
made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Harris .E. Purvis for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to
any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attomey be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angelea be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the Cityof Port Angeles be and he
is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest
thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by COIIlIIlissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Comnission examined and allowed the foHowing claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
