CALL TO ORDER - The City Council met in special session at 7:00 p.m. at Franklin Elementary School
SPECIAL MEETING: for the purpose of considering the draft County-Wide Planning Policy, which has
been formulated as a requisite of the Washington State Growth Management Act
(RESHB 1025). The members of the Council met in a joint workshop with interested
citizens, Planning Commissioners, Growth Management Advisory Committee
members and staff.
ROLL CALL: Members Present: Councilmen Braun and Nicholson, Councilwoman
Sargent, and Councilman Schueler.
Members Absent: Mayor Hallett and Councilmen Ostrowski and Wight.
Staff Present: City Manager Pomeranz, Planning Director Collins, and
Senior Planner Sawyer.

Draft County- Margaret Crawford, Growth Management Committee, welcomed those present and
Wide planning briefly explained that the purpose of the workshop was to discuss and answer
Policy questions pertinent to the draft County-Wide Planning Policy.
There will be several opportunities for public comment prior to final action by the
City and the County on the Plan: a public heating before the Planning Commission
on June 10, 1992; a public hearing before the City Council on June 16, 1992; and
a public hearing the same evening, June 16, 1992, before the Clallam County
Commissioners.
Senior Planner Sawyer explained some of the provisions contained in the draft
County-Wide Planning Policy and expanded on the opportunities in place for
members of the public to comment on the Policy prior to its adoption.
A question and answer period followed, and Planning staff answered questions
pertinent to various sections of the Policy. No action was taken.
ADJOURNMENT: The workshop adjourned at approximately 9:12 p.m.
