Roll Call of of officers showed the following present: Uayor Epperson, Commissicner Johnson and Clerk Law. The minutes of the previous session were. read and approved. The petition was ordered filed. , ';Mrs. Fint and others, also presented a petition requesting the City to oil nAn and "B" Streets from 5th St'1 'Ito 8th Street, to control the dust. Commissioner Johnson assured that such projects are being attended as fast as possible, and it might be necessary for property owners to share expense of oiling. The Commission I !iordered petition filed. 'Supt. Lean informed that the contract with Radio Station KON? had expired and should be cancelled unless better advertising could be secured. It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the contract oe cancelled as of July 1, 1946. Seconded by j'1ayor Epperson. All voted Aye. Motion carried. I The report of Police Judge Taylor for month of Eay was examined and ordered filed. ,Pursuant to a call for bids to furnish the Garbage Dept. four filing cabinets and wpplies, the one bid of iRemington Rand, Inc. was opened. The bid was for the amount of $1,217.90, and held over to next session. I I Under the head of reading and passage of ordinances, the following passed third reading and were finally adopted: ORDINANCE NO. 1163 'AN CllDINANCE Relating to public health and sanitation; the collection and disposal of garbage; and amending ,Section 5 and Section 12 of Ordinance No. 1129 passed by the City Commission on Septemoer 27, 1944 ORDINANCE NO. 1164 i IAN ORDINANCE vacating the alley running southerly from the south margin of Second Street to the alley runnink- [least and west in Block One of Cain's Subdivision of Suburban Let 'I'vrenty-one of the Government Townsite of :Iport Angeles. i " I ilt was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the foregoing two ordinances be passed third reading, and adopted. Iseconded by Mayor Epperson. All members voted Aye. Motion carried. IUnder the head of introduction and reading of ordinances, the following passed first. and second reading: I ORDINA!,CE NO. 1165 '. . All OlmlNANCE, setting forth an emergency affecting the PORT PJWELES PUBLlC LIBRARY, reqU1.nng expend~tures unforeseen, providing for the issuance of emergency warrants, declaring an emergency making this Ordinance effective immediately. It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the foregoing ordinance be passed first and second reading. Seconded by Mayor Epperson. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
