Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Robinson, ColDlll1ssioners Beam and Masters, Attorney Johnston and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. I Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted: M. L. Gabrielson, Build Garage, Lot 5, Block 121,. Townsite Port Angeles Savings & Loan Ass'n., Remodel Office, Lot ~O, Blk. 15, N.R. Smith Subd. Dew-Drop Inn, No.2, 1 Amusement Machine (9 Months) 1 Log Cabin Tavern, 5" "f9~.~1 I "\~ The Electric CanpaD.Y, Master Electrician (2 Years) Yellow Taxi Cab Co., 5 Five Passenger Cars Log Cabin Tavern, 1 Mosic Machine Port Angeles Hotel, Hotel, (26 Rooms) Dew-Drop Inn, No.2, 1 Mosic Machine (9 months) 75.00 200.00 18.00 72.00 20.00" 15.00 12.00' 26.00" 9.00v Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolutions Were introduced: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Port ~geles, on account of the military dimout, is desirous of having certain 8treets painted with traffic stripes. AND WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles does not have the necessary equipment to do the said paintine. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Director of Highways is hereby authorized to perfonn the said work, estimated to be 12 miles in length at an estimated cost of $480.00 and the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and requested to transfer the cost of said work from the funds credited or to be credited in the Motor vehicle fund to the City of Port Angeles to the proper State Highway fund to reimburse said fund for the expanditure above referred to. , It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Mayor Robinson. On roll call all members voted aye. The !.!ayor declared the motion carried. RESOLUTION TO CARRY FORWARD BUDGET ITEM WHEREAS, On April 1, 1942, the City Commission passed an Emergency Ordinance No. 1100 for $50,000.00 to be I. used with the 1942 budget for the Water Department for the replacement of the' old decayed wood pipe on Ninth Street in order to safely furnish the necessary water seryice required, and WHEREAS, on account of Federal Government restrictions of the purchase of pipe and pipe fitting, only $55,595.67 was used, leaving a balance of $14,406.55 unexpended of the $50,000.00 provided b.r said Ordi- nance No. llOO, and that it will be necessary to use the unexpended balance of $1.4,406.55 in order to complete the work originally provided for. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE...'VLVED, by the City Commission that the unexpended portion of the $50,000.00 pro- vided for, to be used with the 1942 budget of the Water Department for the purchase of pipe and pipe fittings, amounting to $14,406.55 be transferred from the 1942 budget to the 1945 budget, and that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to make all necessary entries to make said transfer in order that warrants may be drawn against the same in payment for material to complete the construction of the pipe line originally provided for. It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded b.r Mayor Robinson. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
