The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M., and was called to order by Mayor Epperson. Roll call
of: officers showed the following present: Mayor Epperson, Commissioners Steele and Johnson, Attorney'
Wilson and Clerk law.

Ii Under the head of unfinished business, the awarding of bid by G. S. MacPherson to paint the City fuilding
[was held over to the next session.
Don Morrison of the Health Department appeared before the Commission regarding Valley Street Sewer. After
due consideration it was decided to inforce the City Health Ordinance when the Health Department makes
certain percolation tests to ascertain if septio tanks will operate properly.
Under the head of new business, Mr. Miller requested permission for a;rescent Grange to move a building from:
'[ the Fair Grounds. The Commission agreed to removal of wilding if Pomona Grange and County Commissioners i

II Commissioner Johnson informed that an unused gravel wnker located on City property and mmed by Joe I
Morrison is being sold toC. W. Summerville. Permission was requested to move the bunker from City property,
which the Commission unanimously approved. I:
I Engineer Dodge presented estim9ted cost of construction of sidewalks and curbs by L.LD. East of Lincoln ,I
' Street and North of Eighth Street, for whioh a resolution was introduced and adopted fixing date of hearing I
'for said L.I.D. '
'; The Commission discussed participation in activities of Salmon Derby Week celebration. After due consid-
'I. eration it was moved by Commissioner Steele that the City be represented by one or more floats in the
parade September 5rd. Motion seconded by ~iayor Epperson. All voted Aye. !lotion carried.
An agreement between the Peninsula Herald and the City for City printing for the year beginning July 1,
was approved and signed.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY IDUMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT AlIGELES:
First: That it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles to order the following
I described improvements along the following described portions of streets in the Cit,y of Port Angeles: ,
II The construction of concrete sidewalkiilhiiw:bs and gutters along the following described stre~ts in the City II
of Port Angeles: Chase, Peabody, Vin@,7Etli1ice, and Francis Streets, from the North Margin of Front Street
to the South Margin of Eighth Street, and Front, First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and
, Eighth Streets from the east margin of Lincoln to the east margin of Francis Street. ~
I Second: That all persons who desire to object thereto are hereby notified to appear and present such
I objections at a meeting of the City Commission to be held in the City Commissioners' room on the second
floor of the Fire Department Building on Lincoln Street in the City of Port Angeles on the 14th day of
July, 1948, at 10 A.M. of said day, which time and place is hereby fixed for hearing on matters relating to
,I the said proposed improvement and all the objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment of
said improvement.
,I Third: That the City Engineer shall submit to the City Commission at or prior to said date all data and
information required by law to be submitted.
Fourth: Thet the cost and expense of such improvement shall be borne and assessed against the property
lia ble therefor', as provided by law.
