Roll call showed the. following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Acting Attorney Taylor and Cle rk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Police Judge, W. F. Phillips, reported 72 cases tried and $958.00 collected in fines for the month of June, 1942. Report ordered filed. Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted: Remodel House, Lot 5, Block 97, Townsite Soft Drink 2 Card Tables ,SPool & Billiard Tables Frank Vannausdle, Junk Dealer " " , Second Hand Dealer Shamrock Tavern, Restaurant II 11) 80ft Drink Farmann Barber Shop, 1 Barber Chair Crystal Baths, Bath House Harbor Tavern, 1 Music Machine " " 1 Card Table , Soft Drink Ruby Amusement Co., 2 Amusement Game Distributor's Licenses Harbor Tavern, 5 Amusement Game Location Licenses M & C Tavern, 2 Amusement Game Location Licenses Club Billiards, 5 Amusement Game Locati on Licenses Marine Drive Lunch, 1 Amusement Game Location License The Commission granted an Auctioneer's license to Sam Kline for understanding that no outside merchandise will be allowed to be license. Subject to the terms and conditions (DPWForm No. 100, dated September 15, 1941, Revised as of February 15,.1942) attached hereto and made a part hereof, the United States of America hereby offers to meke a grant of 12500 to you in order to aid in financing the construction of defense public works, presently estimated to cost $2500, consisting of recreational facilities, including necessary equipment and the acquisition of necessary land (herein called the "Project"): Provided, however, that the grant payable here\lr1der in no event shall exceed the actual cost of the Project upon completion as determined by the Federal Works Administrator. Carey Chief Engineer After due consideration the following resolution, providing for the acceptance of said offer, was intro- duced: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF THE UNITED STATES OF A.\ffiRI CA WHEREAS, there has been filed with the Federal Works Agency for and in behalf of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, (herein called the "Owner"), an application for Federal sssistance under the Defense Public Works program, anct the United States of America, acting by and through the Federal Works Admisistrator, has submitted to the Owner an Offer of Federal assistance in connection with the public works referred to in said application and described inS'iid offer; and ~~EREAS, said offer has been duly read in open meeting and has been fully considered in every respect in accordance with the pertinent rules of procedure and legal reqUirements; and WHEREAS, said Offer has been made a part of the public records of the Owner, and WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and in the public interest that said Offer be accepted: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED b.Y the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, that the said Offer of the United States of America, a true and correct copy of which is hereby attached, be and the same hereby is accepted without reservation or qualification. I It was moved by ~ayor Beetle that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by ~ommission- er Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Percy E. Pollanz, having enlisted inthe United States Navy, tendered his resignation as a member of the I Board of Civil Service Commissioners. It was moved by Commissioner Lind that his resignation be accepted., Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried; ....
