Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissicners Beam and Masters, Acting Attorney Taylor and Clerk Hawkins. the minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of applications for licenses the following were granted, Ivy and Gil Lowry, Restaurant ( Shamrock Cafe ) Merchants Hotel, Hotel License (25 rooms) City Drug Co., Soft Drink License Ruby Amusement Co., Distribution Amusement Device License Brickie's Place, Location ~sement Device License, 1 machine Dew Drop Inn, tt 11 n II 2 11 15.00 25.00 5.00 500.00 24.00 48.00 Thos. Caisness, Police Judge, reported .29 cases tried and 11501.50 collected in fines for the month of June, 1959. Report ordered filed. GUARANTY FUND City Treasurer Assessments ': 42.53 n " Taxes '1$ 55.5'1 I I Under the head of Introductions of Resolutions the following resolutions were introduced: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the County of Clallam, State of Washington, is the owner of the following described real property, The West half (W. ~) of the Southeast quarter (S.E. ~) of the Southwest quarter (S.W. i) of Section five (5) Township 29, Range 5 W.W.M., Clallam County, Washington; South half (5. !) of the Northeast quarter (N.E. t) of Section 6, Tovffiship 29, Range 5, W. W. M., Clallam County, Washington; which said property is located in th~ water shed of the Gity of Port'iAngeles, and; WHEREAS, the City Commission believes it desirable and for the best interest of the City of Port /Angeles and the citizens thereof that the said city own said property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Superintendent of ,Utilities be and he is hereby authorized to request the Board of County COJlllnissioners of Clallam County to offer said property for sale, and the the City Treasurer of Port Angeles be and she is hereby authorized, in case said property is offered for sale by said County, to purchase said property at said sale for the City of Port lAngeles. It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. ....4 ~ 70 Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington July 5, 1959 19_ RESOLUTION TO LEASE PROPERTY WITH OPTION TO PURCHASE WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property in the City of Port Angeles, to-wit: Lots eleven (11) and twelve (12), Block one hundred twenty-seven (127), Townsite of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington; which said property was acquired by treasurer's deed dated June 2, 1939, under snd by virtue of the authority of Section 9593 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365; WHEREAS, Edward H. Creelman and Laura M. Creelman, his wife, have have offered to lease the above described property for a period of four (4) months, beginning on the 10th day of July, 1939, and to pay the sum of $15.00 per month as rental for said premises, payable in advance, beginning en the 10th day of July, 1959, and in addition to expend not less than $10.00 per month for materials to be used in improving the build- ings on the said property; said lease to provide that the said Edward H. Creelman and Laura II.. Creelman, i his wife, may purchase the above described premises at the expiration of the four (4) months period I aforesaid, in the sum of $1,000.00, payable at the rate of '15.00 per month, including interest at six per cent (6%); the said Creelmans to further agree to expend $10.00 a month for materials to be used in improving the buildings on said property for a period of thirty-one (51) months from the date of said purchase; providing tha~ this option to purchase is conditioned on the said Edward Edward H. Creelman and wife fully complying with all the terms of this lease; and, said rental payments to be credited on purchase price in case of sale, as aforesaid, and, WHEREAS, the City Commission has viewed said property and finds that $1.5.00 a month is a fair rental for. said property; and further finds that the sum of $1,000.00 is in excess of the amount paid by the said City for said property, plus all L.r.D. assessments, including all interest and other charges against the same, and is a fair offer for said property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the offer to lease said property with option to purchase as set forth above be accepted; that the Acting City Attorney be instructed to prepare a proper lease with option to Jerchase, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to execute the same on behalf of the ~ty of Port ngele s . It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolut~on be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all members voted aye. "he Mayor declared the motion carried. !
