Roll call ~howed the following officers present. Mayor Davis, Coffimissioners ~enson and Masters, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Police Judge Thos Geisness reported 62 cases tried and $483.00 collected in fines for the month of June, 1938. Report ordered filed. Peoples Second Hand Store Second Hand Dealer Frank Vennausdle Second Hand Dealer C.W:Kilmer 2 Card tables Por~ Angeles Recreation 6 bowling alleys I Port Angelss Recreation 4 pool and billiard tables Port Angeles Recreation 80ft drink Barbara Leighton Star Rooms ( 10 rooms ) : Harrington & Giles 1 Sinele shot shooting gallery Claude W.Carlson Merchants Hotel ( 25 rooms ) Cla~de W.Carlson Soft drink Licens~ " $ 200.00 160.00 500.00 15.00 5.00 15.00 15.00 10.00 60.00 40.00 5.00 10.00 25.00 25.00 5.00 I Under the head of applications for building permits and licenses the following were granted I :Under the head of introduction of resolutions the following was introduced: RESOLUTION ENTERING INTO A HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT :WHEREAS, the Home Insurance Company did, on the 23rd day of December, 1937, issue its certain policy of insurance bearing number 0535 in the sum of $3000.00 to one Lou Thompson, covering him against loss by fire to certain frame building in Port Angeles, and .WHEREAS, the loss, if any, subject to the terms and conditions of said policy, was made payable to the.City of Port Angeles, and :WHEREAS, on the 16th day of June, 1938, the building described in the policy 'was :tote.llj destroyed, lind, WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles contends that Lou Thompson, the assured named under ilBild policy, has no interest of any character in said building, and :WHEREAS, the Home Insurance Company desires to pay the loss but that said Lou Thompson vrill not release the company from such obligations as it may have to him under said policy, and :WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is willing to issue to the Home Insurance Company a hold harmless agrltement in the event it will pay to the City of Port Angeles under said policy the ~wn ~f $3000.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in consideration of the payment by the Home Insurance Company'to the:City of Port Angeles of the sum of $3000.00, receipt of which said City hereby.acknowledges, the said City of Port Angeles, does hereby agree to forever hold harmless the said Home Insurance Company against all claims and expenses of every kind and nature which may be made against it by the said Lou Thompson, or his successors in interest, under the above number policy of fire insurance by reason of the fire of June 16, 1938. I It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Henson. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
