The City Council of the City of Port Angeles met in special session at 7:30 P. M., and was called to
order by Ma.Yor Smith. Roll call of officers showed the following present; Mayor Smith, Councilman Neer,
,Brown, Sandison, Wolfe and McFadden, Manager Vergeer, Attorney Severyns aI.ld !)lerk Law.
'l~ager .Vergeer cited many requests from individuals and letter from the Coast Guard asking that the
I cars be removed, and in his opinion, proper procedure would be to accept rental and make application for
'Federal Court Order demanding car removal.
lIt was the opitrion cof ,Attorney Severyns that the City can. request and demand removal of cars, as under
term of the lease, the sarne ma;r be declared a nuisance. Removal being by Federal Court order, no labor
,troubles would be involve~ Also .the City.cannot just terminate lease, and .by accepting rental, waive
I right to terminate. .

,'Mr.. LeGear agreed to do all in his power to accomplish car removal, and if neeessary, go to Seattle
: and try to get permission.
It was decided that in as much as the Company is in rell'eivership and all transactions subject to Federal
Court Order, nothing can be done except through said Court.
'it was moved by Councilman Brown that the Attorney be instructed to write the Federal Court Judge and
demand removal of logging cars from Ediz Hook tracks as the' cars constitute a traffic hazard and a
public ousiance. Motioo seconded by, Councilman McFadden and unanimously carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was then adjourned.
