Roll call showed the following officers present: M;iyor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Building permits and Licenses the following were granted: J Robert L. Gore, Lot 11, Block 372, Townsite R. G. Pollanz having enlisted in the United States Navy, tendered his resignation as a member of the Firemen and Police Civil Service Commissions. It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resignation be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Mayor Beetle then submitted the name of Paul M. NeeI' for appointment as commissioner to fill the vacancy on the Firemen and Police Civil Service Commissions. It was moved by Commissioner Lind that the foregoing appoin~ment be confirmed. Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Emmett Groves appeared before the Cornu.ission on behalf of the Americen Legion and requested permission for nArth~'s Mighty Shows., sponsered by the American Legion, to put on their show on the playfield at 15th a od Pine Streets on July 20th to 26th, 1942. After due consideration, Ma,yor Beetle moved that the above request be granted, with the rnnderstanding that the expense of all necessary police servim be paid by the American Legion. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call Mayor Beetle and Commissioner Lind voted aye. Commissioner Beam voted nay. The Mayor declared the motion carried. A petition signed by John Goneis and others was read requesting that certain excavation work be done on Second Street between Peabody and Chase Streets. The Commission referred the petition to the City Engineer! for checking. I i Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resoluticn was introduced: ! RESOLUTION I TO SELL PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY FORECLOSURE i WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property in the City of Portl Angeles, to-wit: Lot Nineteen (19), Block Three Hundred Twenty-two (322), Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington, which said property has been acquired by the City on foreclosure of delinquent local i~provement assess- ments under Chapter 205 of the ~ession Laws of 1927, and WHEREAS, Floyd G. Hayne has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of $132.46, payable as follows: $15.00 as a down payment and $15.00 on or before the ' 1st day of August, 1942, and $15.OC on or before the 1st day of each and every month theveafter until paid in full, together with interest computed at the rate of 7% per annum on monthly balances and paid with the monthly installments, and WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the oplmon that the offer is fair value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, including inteerest and other charges against the same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOlVED, That the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles seU the said property at private sale to the said Floyd G. Hayne, for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to execute the said deed in accordance with the provisions of this resolution and Chapter 275, Session Laws of 1927. It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor deolared the motion carried.
