City Council met in regular session at ~:30 P.M. with the following officers present: Councilmen Smith, Sandison, Maxfield, Thorne and Caldwell, Acting Manager Warder, Attorney severyns and Clerk Law. It was moved by Councilman Caldwell that Councilman Smith preside as chairman. Seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried. Minutes of the previous meeting .weroe read and it was moved by Councilman' Sandison that they be approved. Seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried. Under t he head of unfinished business" it was moved by Councilman Thorne that medical con tract with Clallam County Physicians Servic es, Inc. be lllproved and accepted. Seconded by Councilman Sandison and car.ried. L.I.D. No. 177 having been completed and accepted, it was moved by Councilman Caldwell that date of hearing on final assessment roll be August 21. Seconded by c: ouncilman Thorne and carried. Under the head of new business, claims payable were approved in total amount of $37,548.52. It was moved by Councilman Maxfield that claims be approved and paid. Secooded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. It was moved by Councilman Thorne that the Treasurer's report and Utilities wck report be approved and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. Pursuant to publications, it was moved by Councilman Thorne that July 29 be fixed as date for special meeting at which time bids for construction in L.I.D. No. 178 be considered. Motion seconded by Council- , man Maxfield and carried. .~ttorney Thorgrimson having submitted recoounendation it was moved by Councilman Maxfield that Council authorize publication of call for bids for purchase of warrants and bonds to pay for construction in L.I.D. No. 178. Motion seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. : A signed petition was filed requesting improvement of Caroline Street frOll\ Bunice Street to Francis Street ! and Hunice Street from Georgiana to Caroline by construction of cUllbs, gutters and<l:ainage. It was moved by Councilman Maxfield that petition be referred to the Planning Board for recommendations. Seconded by Councilman Thome and carried. I , Another petition requested improvement of water service on West 10th Street from I to N Streets now serving approximately 27 homes. It was m",ed hy ~ouncilman Maxfield the request be referred to the Engineer and Water Departments for study. recommendations to be included in next budget. Seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. Gordon Hurning and others asked Council to consider extension of water service up Mount Angeles Road to Scrivner Road, about 35 homes being included. Mr. Hurning was instructed to contact the Manager and Water Superintendent as to procedure in establishing water District. . The Library Board recommended in writing that certain repairs be made at Library building in amount of $568.00, cost to te paid fr01ll the Library Cumulative Reserve Fund by Council approval. After due consideration it was moved by Councilman Thorne that recommendation be accepted and an Ordinance prepared transferring amount of cost from Library Cumulative Reserve Fund. Seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried. Under the head of introduction of Resolutions, the following was intrOduced and readt RBSOUJTION NO. 14 - 58 A RBSOLUTION confirming call for bids. It was moved by Councilman Maxfield that the foregoing Resolution be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Thorne and carrie d. No further business appearing, the meeting was adjourned.
