Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted: w. D. Kurtz, House on Suburban Lot 52, 1'ownsi te Ray H. Soft Drink The Machinery Exchange, Second Hand Dealer Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced: 500.00 500 .00 15.00 16.00 5.00 5.00 5.00 5.00 15.00 1.00 15.00 5.00 15.00 I I RESOLUTION WHEREAS., The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the saine by Treasurer I s Deed dated June 50, 1959, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9593 of Remington 's Revialld Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit: Lots Six (6) and Seven (7), Block One (1), London Park Subdivision of the Townsite of Port ,(neelee, Washington, and WHEREAS, Stephen S. Besselman has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real pr.operty for the sum of $125.00, payable as follows: $25.00 on or before tlie 1st day of August, 1939, and $10.00 on or before the 1st day of each and every month thereafter Until said $125.00 has been paid in full, togethe r with interest at the rate of 7% per annum to be computed on monthly balances due an:! paid with the monthly installment, and WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property an9- is of the value and that at this time it is the best interest of the City that it made, . opinion that the offer is fair should be accepted and the sale I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said I property at private sale to the said Stephen S. Besselman for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to : aITil other va.lid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the G:i.ty of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he .is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed vrhen the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in fUll. I It was 'moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Seali' On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the following ordinance was read in fUll and placed on its first and second readings: AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 997 entitled, "AN ORDINA.NCE PROHIBITING THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE BY A PERSON WITHOUT ANOPERATOR'S LICENSE; BY A PERSON WHO IS INTOnCATED; IN A RECKLESS MANNER; PROVIDING CERTAIN TRIIFFIC RULES; PROVIDING FOR THE REVOCATION OF LICENSES UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY., by adding thereto a new Section to be kn~ as Section 5~, providing for an offense of Negligent Operation; defining terms; and declaring an emergency. Under the head of reports from City Officers the following was read: July 26, 1939 To the'Honorable Mayor and City "ommission, Port Angele s, Washington Gentlemen : I I herewith submit the first monthly estimate of material furnished by Nichols and Owens, contracotrs, for mineral aggregate. Amount due contractor $5700.00 ~ ~845.00 I 6000 cu. yds. Mineral h'ggregate @ 95~ per cu, yd. Less 15% retained Yours very truly, H. E. DODGE, City J:.ngineer It was moved by CommissionerMasters that the foregoing Engineer! s monthly estimate of material fUrnished. by Nichols & Owens, contractors, be approved and the l<i ty t;lerk be instructed to issue warrants to the saig Ni~hols & Owens in the sum of $4845.00, the amount due them as shown in the said estimate, Seconded by olllllUssioner Beam, On roll call all members voted aye.
