The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M., and was called to order by Mayor Feeley. Officers present were: Mayor Feeley, Commissioners Robinson and Tay~or, Attorney Trumbull, and Clerk Law. Minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of applicationS for building permits and license renewals) the follotting were approved: BUILDING P~llTS: George Mangano Ray P. " " Under the head of unfinished business, the bids to furnish a power mower for the Park Department were again considered. Park Supt. Adams recommended the machine offered by Ross & Beasley, Inc., a Taro Park Special at :$545.50 F .O.B. Port Angeles, Sales Tax not included. It was moved by Commissioner Taylor that the recommendation be accepted and bid awarded as recommended. Seconded by Commissioner Robinson. All voted Aye. Motion carried. One bid was filed by William Thompson in amount of $150.00 for the purchase of Lots 19 and 20, Bl~ck 434, T~ite. It was moved by Mayor Feeley that the bid be accepted. Seconded ~y CoIDmissioner Rob~nson. All voted Aye. Motion carried. Mr~. Jean Hartman filed claim for damages to nylons, shoes, ear-ring, sprained ankle, ~tc., caused by fall on defllctive sidewalk at 619 South Laurel Street. CoIlIlllissioner Taylor informed that the matter had been pr~viouBly referred to the Water Supt. and Commissioner of Streets, and investigation reveals that defective wa],k is caused by a maple tree root pushing up the same. Also that Harold Thompson, prop,!rty'owner, will be notified to repair the walk. It was moved by Commissioner Taylor that the claim be referred to the Attorney. Seconded by Commis3ioner Robinson. All voted Aye. Motion carried. Under the head of new business, Wm. C. Adams, Supt. of Ocean View Cemetery, received interpretation from the Office of Price Stabilization informing that sale of burial lots is exempt from price stabilization, ane! the ceiling prices which may be charged for services rendered are the highest prices charged for the same service of the same class during the base period December 9, 1950 to January 25, 1951, inclusive. Tho resolution providing for change of charges for lots and burials, also the information 'from O. P. S. was referred to the City Attorney. The City Treasurer requested in writing that the contract of Elmer and Etta Bond who purchased Lots 15, 16, ane! 17, Block 30), Townsite, be cancelled, as the purchasers have not complied with terms of the contract. It was moved by Commissioner Robinson that the request be approved and contract cancelled. Seconded by Commissioner Taylor. All voted Aye. Motion carried. Co~ssioner Taylor informed that a donation of $200.00 made by Mr. Buchmann in 1942 is available for purposes beneficial to the City. It was moved by Commissioner Taylor that thc donation be transferred from the Suspense Fund to the Park Fund. Seconded by Commissioner Robinson. All voted Aye. 'Motion carried. Light Supt. Mclennan requested that the Commission pass an Ordinance regulating the installation of T. V. aerials for the protection of power lines and buildings where equipment is installed. The Commission instructed that the Engineer and Building Inspector be consulted and all neceasary information referred to the Attorney for drafting Ordinance. ., - . Under the head of reading and.passage of Ordinances, the following was placed on third and final reading: ORDINANCE NO. 1254 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles adjusting the wages of certain employees of the electrical distri- bution system of the City of Port Angeles, amending Ordinance No. 1239, providing for the issue of emergency warrants, and declaring an emergency. ' It was moved by Commissioner Robinson that the foregoing Ordinance be passed third and final reading and adopted. Seconded IoY Commissioner Taylor. All voted Aye. Motion carried. Commissioner Robinson presented an opinion by the City Attorney regarding salar,y increases and retroactive pay and moved that the same be referred to the Clerk for filing. Motion seconded by Mayor Feeley. All voted Aye. Motion carried. OHDINANCE NO. /.2..55 It was moved by Mayor Feeley that the foregoing Ordinance be passed first and second reading. Seconded by Commissioner Robinson. All voted Aye. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. p5C, AN ORDINANCE relating to rates and service charges for the use of water supplied by the City of Port Angeles, amending Ordinances No. 778 and 1076 and declaring anJemergency. It was moved by Commissioner Taylor that the foregoing Ordinance be passed first and second reading. Seconded by Commissioner Robinson. All voted Aye.
