pollution. Mayor McFac1den informed of intention to attend.

ORDINANCl! NO. 1396
AN ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of $76,939.00 for Flood Control Maintenance on Valley Creek between
Third Street and a p~int 1480 feet South of Third Street in the city of Port Angeles and c1eclaring an
em~rgency.
1 It was moved by Councilman llandison that the foregoing Ordinatce be Pl1Ssed fina.! reading and adopted.
Seconded by Councilman aa:.wn and unanimously carried.
No further business appearing, it was moved by Councilman Brown that'meeting be recessed until Monday,

The City Council met at 7::30 P.M., pursuant to recess declared, the following' officers being present:
Mayor McFadden, Councilmen Sandison. lIblfe, Maxfield and Brown, Manager'Vergeer, Attorney Sel1eryns and
Clerk Law. ( ~
One bid was recei ved from Randall Kilmer Construction Co. to mix
$6.30 per ton, city to furnish aggregate and hauling facilities.

Bid,S to furnish 1,220 lineal feet of 84" concrete culvert pipe were received from the following "oinpanies:
Seattle Con"r~te Pipe Co., $34.50' per ft., tax, $l,4tl3.00
Associated Sand and Gravel Co., $40.00 per ft.
Port Augeles Con"rete Produds Co., $42.50 per ft., 104 ft. of No.2 grade at $18.00 per foot.
Councilman Wolfe questioned the 'luality of Seatie Concrete Pipe Co. materia.! as experienced in: previous
construction. Mr. Vergeer replied that it is not fair to assume a company of this capacity could not
make pipe according to specifi,,'ations and requirerents are understeod as to ..nat pipe shall be delivered.
