The Commission met pursuant to adjournment at 10 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor
Davis. Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioners
Lutz and Masters and Clerk Hawkins.
Under the head of Unfinished BUsiness,-
The matter of the bid for the improvement of Eighth Street from the west margin of
Lincoln Street to the east end of the Tumwater Creek Bridge came up for consideration.
The Washington Asphalt Cpmpany having filed a change in their bid, making the price of
Bituminous cement "Plant Mix" Type Class F in place, $6.45 instead of ~6.65, as lJ.uoted
in the original bid. Therefore, the following resolution was introduced adcepting the
bid.

RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING BID FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF EIGHTH
STREET FROM THE WEST MARGIN OF LINCOLN STREET
TO THE EAST END OF THE TUMWATER CREEK BRIDGE.

WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the ~ity Commission held August 5, 1930, bids were
opened for the improvement of Eighth Street by the oonstruction of an asphaltic concrete
pavement from the west margin of Lincoln Street to the east end of ~umwater Creek Bridge.
WHEREAS, The \/ashington Asphalt Company's bid, made and heretofore filed, is fair and
reasonab~ for said work,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, that
the bid of the Washington Asphalt Oompany be, and it"is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and ~ity Olerk be authorized and instructed to
execute a contract for said wmrk on behalf of the City of Port Angeles as soon as the.
Contractor has filed its bond in the sum and in the form and manner required by the
specifications.
It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and
adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lutz. On roll call all members voted aye. The
Mayor declared the motion carried.
