Roll call showed the following officers present. Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted: Arthur Aggergaard, Build Woodshed, Lot 10, Block 3, Subd. of Lot 17, Tovmsite I Fred Dampier, Remodel House, Lots 5 & 6, Block 128, Townsite Holmstro::l, Grocery, Soft Drink Home Grocery, Soft Drink I Washington Cafeteria, Restaurant Angeles Noodle House, Ilusic Machine Home Rooms, by W. M. Rideout, Music Machine 50.00 500.00 5.00 5.00 12.00 12.00 12.00 Under the Head of New Business: John J. Jacobson, having assigned his interest in and to Lots 19 and 20, Block 1, Cain's 5ubdivision of Suburban Lot 18 of the Townsite of Port Angeles, to Donald H. Fee and Grace I. Fee, husband and wife, requested in writing that when the contract of sale is completed, the deed be issued to the said Donald Fee and Grace I. Fee, husband and wife. The sale of the above described property was authorized by resololution dated June 25, 1941, and recorded in Vol. 20 of Commissioners' ProceedL~gs on page 294. There being no objections the City Clerk was instructed to issue the deed to said property to Donald H. and Grace I. Fee, as requested, when all the terms of the sale are comp+eted. H. i I I Fee! Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the following ordinances were introduced, read in full, and placed on their first and second readings: AN ORDIN~NCE providing for and regulating the giving of franchises, providing for the manner in which the consideration therefor shall be determined, and repealing Ordinances 46S and 346, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herero. th. AN ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the public health and safety; reqUlI':mg expenditures unforeseen; provicing for the issuance of emergency warrants; and declaring an emergency making the ordi- nance immediately effective. Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced: ReSOLUTION FOR SOUTH CHERRY HILL DISTRICT PROJECT PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEc:ENT OF 9TH STREET FRat! LINCOLN STREET TO VAlLEY GULCH, 10TH STREET FhOM LINCOLN STREET TO VALLEY GULCH, 11T:I STREET FROI,: LINCm:N STREET TO VAlLJo.'Y GUWH, 12TH STREET FROM LINCOLN STREET TO VALLEY GULCH, 13TH STREET FROM LINCOEN STREET TO VALLEY GULCH, 14TH STREET FROM LINCOLN STREET TO VALLEY GULCH and 15TH STREET FROM OAK STREET TO VAHEY GULCH. RESOLVED, That the City of Port Angeles pave 9th Street from Lincoln Street to Valley Gulch, 10th Street from Lincoln Street to Valley Gulch, 11th Street from Lincoln Street to Valley Gulch, 12th Street from Lincoln Street to Valley Gulch, 13th Street from Lincoln Street to Valley Gulch, 14th Street from Lincoln Street to Valley Gulch and 15th Street from Oak Street to Valley Gulch, with a Light Bituminous surface I treatment, according to the Standard Specifications of the State of Washington, Department of Highways, for Secondary Highways, adopted by the State of llashington, and approved by the United States Bureau of Public Roads. AND BE IT YuRTHEJ RESOLVED, The cost of said paving be paid out of the City Street Fund as provided for in Chapter 187 of the Laws of 1957 and out of any other fund or funds that may be available for that purpose. It was moved by Com:nissioner Li.nd that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Coa~issioner Bea~. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
