I The COrnEission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioners Beam and Lind, Acting Attorney Taylor
\, and Clerk Hawkins.
"he minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted:
Police Judge, W. F. Phillips, reported 81 cases tried and $692.50 colE cted in fines for the month of
July, 1942.
Olympic Ship Builders Inc., Construct Office Building, Block F, Sampson Donation Claim
Martin F. Hermanson, Build house and garage, West 25' Lot 7 & Lot 8, Block 4, Cain's Subd.

Albert Johnson, 20 Passenger Bus

Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following ordinance passed its second and third
readinga and was finally adopted:
AN ORDINANCE relating to the National Defense<"nd providing for "Dim-outs" and "Partial Black-outs"
during the existence' of a state of war,with any foreign power; defining offenses, Prescribing penalties,
and declaring an emergency;
It was moved by Mayor Beetle that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and finally
adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the
mati on carried.

Pursuant to the call for bids for the construction of a tennis court at the
Playfield at Fourteentn and Pine Streets, the City Clerk reported the
following bids On file:

It was moved by CommisJioner Lind that the bid of Frank Pollow be accepted.
Seconded by Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor
declared the motion carried.
