The Commission met in regular session at 10 a.m. and was, called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Cormnissioner Beam, !Attorney Conniff and Glerk
Hawkins.
The minutes ofille previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted:
, L. C. Dowley, Build fruit stand, Lots 1 & 2, Block 4, Williams & Cramer Subd.

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolutions were introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is t he owner of the follcwing described property in the City of Port
Angeles, to-wit:
Lot Six (6), Block One Hundred Twenty-one (121) of Thomes W. Carter's Subdivision
of Suburban Lots 11 and 16, Port Angeles Townsite,
which said property has been ecquired by the City on foreclosure of delinquent local improvement assess-
ments under Chapter 205 of the Session Laws of 1927, and
WHEREAS, Edwin Van Tine has offered to purchase the above described real property from ,the City of Port
Angeles for the swn of $150.00, payable as follows: $12.50 as a down payment and the balance of $137.50
in semi-annual payments, $25.00 on or before the 1st day of March, 1941, and .25.00 on or before the 1st
day of.each and every six month period thereafter until paid in full. Intere~t to be computed on the
balance due at the rate of 7% per annwn and paid with each six month installment, and
WHE~S, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.l.D. ,assessments,
including interest and,other charges against the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the seid offer be accepteli and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
aaid property at private sale to the said Edwin Van Tine for the swn hereinabove set forth, subject to any
valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a deed conveying said
property to the purchaser, and the City Treasurer be, and she is hereby authorized to execute the said
deed in accordance with the provisions of this resolution and Chapter 275, Session Laws of 1927, when the
purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was'moved by Commissioner lleam that the foregoingrnsolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
If.ayor Beetle. On roll call ,all members voted aye. The lJayordeclared the motion carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port :Angeles is the owner of the following described real property having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated July 18, 1940, under and by virtue of theatthority of Section 9393 of
Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Tax No. 297 in Suburban Lot 10, Townsite of Port Angeles, being 150 feet by 140 feet,
more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the S.E. corner of First and
Ennis Streets, and extending in an easterly direction along the south line of said
Firs t Street a distance of 150 feet, thence turning at rightangles and extending
southerly a distance of 140 feet to an alley, thence turning at right angles and
extending westerly along the north line of said alley a distance of 150 feet to Ennis
Street, thence northerly along the line of said Ennis Street 140 feet to t he point of
beginning, and
WHEREAS, Edwin Van Tine has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the S\Jll of $600.00, payable as follows: ;$37.50 as a down payment and the balance of
$562.50 in semi-ennual payments, $'75.00 on or before the 1st day of MarCh, 1941, 'and $75.00 on or before
the 1st day of each and every month period there after until paid in full. Interest to be computed on the
balance due at the rate of 7% per annum and paid'with each six month installment, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission had viewed the,said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property,plus all 1. l.D. assessments,
inclUding interest and other charges against the same,
NOIV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOJWED that said offer be accepted and that ille City of Port .Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Edwin Van Tine for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to
any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City /uerk of the ~ ty of Port ~eles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued
interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted 'lYe. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Tbe City of Port ffingeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed, dated August IS, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9393
of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lot Twenty (20), Block Two Hundred Fifty-six (256) of the Townsite of Port Angeles,
Clallam County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, Edwin Greenbrook has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the sum of $100.00 and

WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
, value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments,
including interest end other charges against the sa~.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOIl,VEIJ that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Edwin Greenbr,?ok for the swn hereinabove set forth, eubject to
arIlf other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the ~ity of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to countersign said quitclaim deed.
It was moved by Conunissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the lpotion carried.
W. F. Phillips, Police Judge, reported 82 cases tried and $615.50 collected in fines for the month of
July, 1940.
The Cbmmission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
