The Commission met in regular session at 10 A.~:. and was called to order by Mayor Epperson. Roll call of I
officers showed the followihg present: Mayor Epperson, Commissioner Jolmson, ,!.ttorney Wilson, and Deputy
Clerk Carlson.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of applications for building permits and licenses, the following were granted:

Under the head of unfinished business, pursuant to bids advertised for an electric Graphotype for the Light 1
Department, one bid was received from the Addressograph Sales Agency for $909.70. It was moved by Commiss- I
ioner Johnson that the above bid be accepted. Seconded by Mayor Epperson. ~~l members voted Aye. Itotion
carried.

Under the head of reading and passage of Ordinances, the following passed third and final reading, and was
adopted. It was agreed that enforcement of this Ordimnce would conunence 1:onday, September 26th, 1946.
ORDINANCE NO. 1169
AN ORDINANCE Relating to traffic and regulating the use of public streets and highways of the City of Port i
~ngeles; providing for the installation, regulation and control of the use of parking meters; requiring the I
deposit of coins for the use of parking meters and parking meter zones; defining parking meter zonea; pro- I
viding for the disposition of revenues derived from parking meters; providing for the enforcement thereof;
defining offenses and providing penalties; and declaring an emergency.

Iby Commissioner Johnson. All members voted Aye. Motion carried.

Under the head of introduction of resolutions Attorney Wilson recommended that Improvement, Resolution No.148
be re-passed showing date of hearing as September 11, 1946. The resolution was introduced as follows:
lllPROVEMENT RESOLliTION NO. 148
IlE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF POOT ANGELES:
FIRST: That it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles to order the following
described improvements along the fol101ting described portions of streets in the City of Port Angeles, to wit:
The construction of concrete sidawalks on both sides of the following portions of streets:
8th 5treet from East Margin of Lincoln Street to West margin of Race Street
9th Street from East Margin of Lincoln Street to West Margin of Francj_s Street
10th Street from East Margin of Lincoln Street to East Margin of Eunice Street
11th Street from East Margin of Lincoln Street to East Margin of Eunice Street
12th Street from West Margin of Chase Street to the West Margin of Vine Street
Chase Street from the South Margin of 8th Street to the North M:argin of 12th Street
Peabody Street from the South !(argin of 8th Street to the North Margin of 11th Street
Eunice street from the South Margin of Bth Street to the Harth Margin of 11th Street

SECOND: That all persons who desire to object thereto are hereby notified to appear and present such I
objections at a meeting of the City ,Corrnnission to be held in the City Commissioners I room on the second Door
of the Fire Department Building on Lincoln Street in the City of Port Angelas on the 11th day of September, I'
1946, at 10 A.M. of said day, which time and place is hereby fixed for hearing on matters relating to the
said proposed improvement and all the objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment of said
improvement.

XHIRD: That the City Engineer shall submit to the City Commission at or prior to said date all data and
'information required by law to be submitted.

FOURTH: That the cost and expense of such improvement shall be borne and assessed against the property
'liable therefor, as provided by law.

ioner Johnson. All members voted Aye. Motion carried.
,City Attorney Wilson made a recommendation that in issuing any permit to move any lnilding within the city
:;limits which would require the moving or disturbance of wires or other city property, it will be necessary
I!to contact the Light Department or other proper City Department for a parmit for clearance. I
