After considerable ~iscussion concerning the installation of the water pipes and pump for pressure, cost of tap-in, etc. ,a motion was made by Councilman Thome and seconded by Councilman Bettger, that the hearing be continued for two weeks until the answers to questions regarding pres- 'sure, etc. can be answered. Paul Reed, Water Supt. was called to furnish these ans~~ers. 8:15 p.m. A motion was".made by Councilman Cornell, seconded by Councilman Wolfe and carried, to table the hearing until the Water Supt. arrived, and to proceed with the next item on theca:genda. fhe following resolution was read in full. RESOLUTION NO. 11-67 1 A RESOLUTION of the City of Port Angeles establishing the speed limit and traffic flow on certain portions ofl'Fr'ont Street. Motion passed. (This resolution sets the speed limit on Front 'I Street at 35 miles per hour from the East City limits to Lincoln Street.) i~:25 p.m. Mr. Reed having arrived, the hearing was reopened. Mr. Reed explained that in ~order to have sufficient pressure those below the pump, which the City will install, would! I'have to hook onto the pump or put iiutheir mm individual pumps. He suggested that it might be cheap~r to install a tee at the pump, with pipes running both ways so both those above II l:and below could use the same pump. This would mean added cost for installation which ~ould be added to the proposed tap in fees ($300.00). Mr. Reed requested more time to rrefigure the costs. l motion ~~as made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by councilman Thorne and carried toi:take ~rom the table the motion to continue.;:the hearing for-two.weeks. Maupin for a variance to allow the installation of a mobile lhome on their property at 1932 W 6th St. (It was pointed out that the original intent of ~the ordinance regarding mobile homes was that mobile homes be allowed only in designated !areas. ) ~ release from the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration indicating that a $691,920.00 grant has been approved for Port Angeles sewage Treatment was read. Also the following resolution: RESOLUTION No. 12-67 A RESOLUTION of the City of Port Angeles authorizing the City Manager._to act on behalf of the City of Port Angeles in applying for and negotisting with the United States Government for a Federal grant for a sewage treatment work. Hen- dricks for a variance to construct a carport at 602 Whidby closer to the property line ~~an permitted in a First Residential Zone, with the restriction for a permanently open s1des structure only. ! motion was made by Councilman Cornell, seconded by Councilman Wolfe and carried, to con- ~ur with the Planning Commission recommendation regarding the request of the First Baptist Church for a variance, (a) conditional use permit be granted for the expansion of the ~xisting non-conforming use, (b) a variance from the rear yard requirements to allow for J\. 1'8" setback and from the front yard requirements to permit a 5' setback. Co., Inc., ;or an extension of time on their variance granted for their new building at 2nd and tincoln Streets. 1 motion was made by Councilman Bettger, seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried, grant Ceo. H. Stevens an extension of time on the variance granted him to construct ~n Eighth Street, east of Race Street, as recommended by the Planning Commission. 1 motion was made by Councilman Thorne, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, to ~pprove and place on file the Planning Commission minutes of September 5, 1967.
