The Commission met in regular session at 10 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor Davis.
Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioner Masters and
Clerk Hawkins.
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following Resolutions were introduced:
RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF PORT ANGELES
RELATIVE TO THE DEATH OF SAM J. LUTZ
WHEREAS, Sam J. Lutz, of Port Angeles, Washington, has recently passed away, and
VffiEREAS, the late Sam J. Lutz was a valued member of this 6ommission, and at all times an
active, progressive and constructive citizen, and
WHEREAS, his passing has caused a great loss to the remaining members of this Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Oity Commission of the ~ity of Port Angeles,
Washington,
~hat the death of ~am J. Lutz the community and the State has lost an honored, valued
and useful citizen, the citizens a real friend, the family a devoted member and widow a
true husbam.

That the deepest sympathy of this Commission, its members, officers and employees is
extended to the widow of the late ~am J. Lutz and family,
That this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting of the City Commission
of the City of Port Angeles and made a part thereof, and a copy be conveyed to the widow
of our late citizen and friemd.
It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be approved and
adopted. Seconded by Mayor Davis. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor
declared the motion carried.
RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION endorsing Proposal No.6 of the City of Port Angeles for submission to the
Works Progress Administration, guaranteeing materials and completion of said project.
VffiEREAS. the City of Port Angeles has submitted to the '.'roks Progress Administration a
project designated as "Sponsor's Proposal No.6" for,
1. To make for the public library four stacks for
books and magazines, To remodel five stacks.
To do some miscellaneous renair work such as
repairing roof, staining sh~lves, repairing
plaster.

2. Landscape and engineering work on library lawn
such as drainage, replacing plants, spading.
3. Woman to thoroughly clean the public library.
Extra cleaning such as cleaning pictures, books
magazines, woodwork, etc.
BE IT RESOLVED That said project be and the same is hereby endorsed and approved and the
fUnds are available for the purchase of all materials and supplies necessary for the con-
struction contemplated in this project.
BE IT FURTHER :,ESOLVED That in the event that for any reason work upon said project is
discontinued by the r/orks Progress Administration fUnds shall be made available by the
City of Port ~ngeles to complete said project and bring the work to a conclusion.
It was moved by Gommill's loner Masters that the foregoing re solution be approved and
adopted. Seconded by Mayor Davis. On roll call all members voted aye. 'l'he lAayor
declared the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn
for sarne:
