The City Council met in regular session at 7:30 P.M. Officers present were Mayor Willson, Council-II
Een Maxfield, Thorne, Cornell, Wolfe, Bettger and Schroeder, Manager Herrman, Attorney Moffett and '
Clerk McNeece.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Schroeder and carried, that minutes
of the previous meeting be approved, as received, and placed on file.
A motion was made by Councilman Bettger, seconded by Councilman Maxfield and unanimously carried,
to accept the recommendation of the City Manager to return to reading the light meters every montr
and to hire another clerk to help with the extra work involved.
A motion was made by Councilman Cornell, seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried, that the Light
Superintendent's request to publish bid call for rnsulators be granted.
A motion was made by Councilman Thorne, seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried, to grant the i,
request of the Light Superintendent to publish bid call for Line Work. ,

paid employees group medical plan. (They want a voice in selecting the plan and coverages.)

A letter from Bonneville Power Administration, along with other materials relative to Wholesale
Power Rate Schedules and General Rate Schedule Provisions were referred to the City Manager and the
Light Superintendent for study and report.
A motion was made by Councilman Thorne, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, that the trans-
fer of liquor license from Samuel J. Haguewood and Hubert R. Haguewood to Haguewood's Restaurant,
rnc., Haguewood's Restaurant be approved.
A meeting with Mr. Kerslake, District Engineer, Washington State Highway Commission, the residents
and City Council is to be set up sometime in October, relative to eliminating parking on the north r

tank and other wastes into sanitary sewers.

ORDINANCE NO. 1571
A motion was made by Councilman Cornell, seconded by Councilman Bettger and unanimously carried, to
concur with the Police Chief's recommendation; that a Stop and Go Signal not be installed at Eighth
and Peabody Intersection; that a city light pole on the southeast corner of this intersection be
moved south ten feet and that Eighth and Race Streets be channelized in the same manner as First
and Lincoln Streets with No Parking 100 feet north of the northwest corner and 100 feet west of the
southwest corner of Eighth and Race Streets.

.ation, Light and Power, Fire and Street Monthly Reports, Police-out of town Conference and the
Recreation Report of Summer Operation.
Other subjects of discussion were the installation of a speaker system in the Council Chambers,
the dance ordinance as pertains to the Jaycee Dances, code revision, the walkways and fire hydrants
above the Boulevard and the problem of obtaining rights of way in that area.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

SPECIAL MEETING
October 4, 1965
The purpose of this meeting was for public hearing on and adoption of the final budget for the year 1966, in
accordance with State Statutes governing.
A request by the Library Board that an amount be included in Capital Expenditures for Buildings (item .34) was
considered.
IA motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Thorne and unanimously carried, to
i amend the 1966 Budget Ordinance to include $5,000.00 for Buildings in the Capital Expenditures of the
I Library Department.
The following Ordinances were read in full:
ORDINANCE No. 1572
AN ORDINANCE approving and adopting the Budget of the City of
'Port Angeles for the fiscal year 1966.

AN ORDINANCE confirming the estimates of expenditures for the City of
Port Angeles for the year 1966 and affixing the tax levies for said year
as heretofore made and levied by the City Council of the City. of Port
Angeles, meeting and sitting for such purpose.
