AN ORDINANCE vacating certain portions of an alley in the City of Port Aneeles, described as follows: to-wit:. That portion of the alley running northerly and southerly in Block Three of Cain 's Subdivision of SUburban ' Lot. No. Eighteen of the City of Port Angeles, J.,ying between Lots One, Tvro, Three and. Four on the EasterJ.,y side, and Lot Five on the westerly side, and being the northerly portion of the alley in said Block Three and. being approximately fifteen feet in width. OllDINANCE NO. 'I AN ORDINANCE vacating certain protions of an~alley in the City of Port Angeles, described as follOll's, to-witl: , That portion of the alley, being the westerly 250 feet, running in a general easterly and westerly direction: through Blmck Thirty-five of Norman R. Smith's Subdivision of the Townsite of Port Angeles, said alley being approximately twenty feell in width. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE amending Section 16 of Ordinance No. 10;::0, as amended by Section 4 of Ordinanoe No. 1087, entitled, "An Ordinance relating to the use of the Streets of the City of Port Angeles, providing for "designation of special restricted zones, ete." and declaring an emergency. Under the head of introduction of resolutions, the following Were introduced: II i'/IIEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired tool , same qy Treasurer's deed dated May 18, 1945, under and qy virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of I Remington's Revised Statutes, Chap"er 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: I I RESOLUTION r.ot Twenty-one (21) of Block Three (5), Cain I s Subdivision of SUburban Lot 56, in the City of Port Angeles, Washington, and WHEREAS, Leslie O. Bond and Georgia M. Bond, husband and wife, have offered to pruchase the above described reaL property from the City of Port Angeles, for the sum of $150.00, and I WHEREAS, the City Commission has viewed the said property am is of the opinion that the offer is fair value' and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale made. ~ I II NON, THEREFORE, BE I T RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the :1 'said property at pri,.-ate sale to the said Leslie O. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said offer be accepted and that the City sell the said property at private sale to said Ted Avery for the sum herein set forth, subject to any other valid liens thereon; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a deed conveying the property to the purchaser, and the City Treasurer be authorized to execute the said deed in accordance with the provisions of this resolution am Chapter 275, Session Laws of 1927. Estes has offered to purchase the above des cribed real property from the City of Port i ., Angeles for the sum of $ll50.00, and I ,WHEREAS, the City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion thet the offer is fair value aid at this time it is the best interest of the City that it should be acc~pted and the sale made. NOH, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the . said property at private sale to the said Beverley W. I NOi'i, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED thllt the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Mack G. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, in the City of Port Angeles, there have been two separate taxi cab licenses issued and two taxi cab' co~anies have been operated during the war, I ,AND WHEREAS, two additional applications have been filed and granted, I Alm WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Commission of the Ci ty of Port Angeles, under normal conditions, there is not sufficient business to justify four taxi cab operations efficiently handled without creating unnecessary competition detramental to the welfare of the community: 'NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES: That no additional taxi cab licenses be granted, and that subsequent to the date hereof, in the event any of the taxi cabs should cease their 'operations, no further licenses be granted until the number of cabs in operation should be less than two, and tha t no more than two separate taxi cab operations be thereafter granted licenses. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, in the event a licenss is granted and the operation not be commenced for 50 days, that the same be automatically denied and cancelled. f '1 ...... ,..-, 144 Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington September.,--19,_1945- RESOtUTION WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles, is desirous of having certain streets painted with traffic stripes, AND ,WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles does not have the necessary equil'llent to do the said paintiIlg. I " NOW, TIlEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, th~t the Director of Highways ishe1~~y authorized to perform the said wOrk, estimated to be 3 miles in length at an estimated cost of #:7~.~, and the State Treasurer be and he ia here- by authorized and requested to transfer the cost of said work from the funds credited or to be credited in I the motor vehicle fund to the City of Port Angeles to the proper State Highway IUnd to reimburse said fund for the expenditure above referred to. It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing resolutions be approved and adopted. Seconded qy Commissioner Beam. On Roll call,all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. The City Clert< reported that pursuant to the call for bids for the sale of the North one half of Lot 20, Block 2, of Doyle I s Subdivision of Suburban Lot 20, Original Townsite of Port Angeles; That one bid had beef! filed by Rugh Ann Maxfield for the swn of $50.00. I After due consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Masters that the bid be accepted and the sale made. Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. The following resolution was introduced authorizing the sale: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, which was acquired for municipal purposes, which are however, no longer meeded, I, regula r 1Y i I North One Half of Lot Twenty (20), Block Two (2), Doyle's Subdivision of Suburban Lot 20, Original Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington, and , WHEREAS, Under and by the instructions of the City Commission, the City Clerk offered the above described I property for sale by issuing a call for sealed bids for the purchase of the said property, bids to be opened September 19, 1945, at which time the bids were opened and it was fOlli~d that the bid of Ruth Ann Maxfield of $50.00 was the highest and best offer, and ! I Wi EREAS, the City Commission has viml'ed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair valu~ and at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it be accepted and the sale made. I N0\7, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell said I property to Ruth Ann Maxfield for the sum hereinabove set forth; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a deed conveying said property to the purchaser; that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles bel and he is hrerby instructed to execute said deed, and that the Mayor of said City be, and he is hereby I instructed to countersign said deed. Ii Under the head of New Business: A petition signed qy the Port of Port Angeles, was read before the I I Commission, petitioning the Commission to vacate the alley running through Block 35, Townsite of Port AngelG, s lying and being between Lots 9 and 10, Block 55, owned by the Port of Port Angeles and Lot 11, Block 35, I i Tovmsite of Port Angeles onned by the City of Port Angeles, said alley being 20 feet more or less in width! I I After due consideration the follJowing resolution was introduced: I' RESOLUTION WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, by all of the I I property ovmers other than the said City, of the abutting property on the alley hereinafter described, requesting that said alley be vacated, I AND WHEREAS, it is necessary that the Commission fix a time and place where said petition should be heard and determined, Ah1Jl WHEREAS, the alley sought to be vacated is the alley in Block Thirty-five of the Govemment Townsite of I Port Angeles from Pine street easterly to the northerly line of Marine Drive. NOW, TIlEREFORE, be it resolved by the city Commission of the City of Port Angeles; That a hearing on said petition to vacate said alley be held in the City Conunission room of the City of Port AIlgeles, in the Fire Hall, on Wednesday, the 10th day of October, 1945, at the h~ur of eleven o'clock A.M. - I The matter of the petition of John Goneis and others for the improvement of Second Street from Lincomn Street to Peabody Street came before the Commission for consideration, and it was moved by Commissioner Masters that the Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications and cost of said propesed improvement. ' Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. RESOLUTION DESIGNATING TAn STAND I WHEREAS, the lessee of the property abutting on the following described street area has consented to the uJ of a certain portion of street area abutting the said property to be used as a taxi stand. I I' Nail, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE CITY COi;,MISSION of the City of:'llort Angeles as fOllows,' " That the following described area be and! it is hereby fixed as a taxi stand for Don Taggart, to be known as I the City Cab Company. The Taxi cabs to be part<ed at the slland parallel with the curb facing East.
