I~he following resolution was read,

RESOLUTION NO. 15-67
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Port Angeles adopting,
in principal, a development plan for the Central Business District.
A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, that the fore
going resolution be passed as read.
A report on the East First Street Street Lighting showed a total cost of only $2,430.00 for putting
~he street lights back in service. A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilma
~horne and unanimously carried, that the bids for underg;round installation for street lighting on
[ast First Street be rejected.
k motion was made by Councilman Thorne, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, to accept and
Iplace on file the Park Board Minutes of August 24, 1967.(A report on the Free Swim Program was
~eo.uested. )

IA motion was ma,de by Councilman Bettger, seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried to concur with
~he Planning Commission and deny the request of Mr. & Mrs. Wallace Treider, 907 W. 15th Street for
I'd variance to permit installation and occupancy of a mobile home on the back of their property.
,A motion was made by Councilman Bettger, seconded by Councilman Maxfield, to accept and place on
l'lfile the Planning Commission Minutes of September 19, 1967.
A motion was made by Councilman Schroeder, seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried to accept
Bnd place ori file the Monthly Reports of Revenues and Expenditures, the Light, Water, Treasurer's,
IIFire, Recreation, Municipal Judge, and Police Departments Monthly Reports, the Utili ties Billing
Ifeport, the Light and Water Revenue and Expenses Reports, and the Out of Town Report of Lyn~ Hitt
(Recreation) and Saari and Sander (Llbrary). '
IIA motion was made by Councllman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Thorne and unammously carried, to
Ilretaln Coates Fleld Service, Inc. for the services 5~ one man.to obtaln the Fogarty and Dolan
leasements as recommended by the City Attorney.
Otherisubjects discussed were: the removal of the traffic'light at Sixth and Lincoln (the Ci.ty ;s
'lito remove the light but notify the State Highway Department so they can cancel the permit);
linstallation of street lights on East Front Street (cost of temporary installation to be checked
Iwith P:,U..D. aSc'he City's lines do not cxtend to that location at this time); the lack of speed ,,'
signs on Front Street, and a meeting Thursday, September 28, at 2:00 P. M. to open the bids on the
Isewer Facility.

IThe Council met in special session at 7: 30 P. M, Officers present 'were Mayor Willson, Councilmen
!'MaXfield, Thorne, Cornell, Wolfe. '1<' ,';, and Schroeder; Manager Herrman and Clerk McNeece.
Absent were Councilman Bettger and Attorney Moffett.
jThe purpose of this meeting waS to hold a public hearing on Lhe City's 1958 ,Budget as set forth by
State Statutes. . i
1MI'. Jim Phillips, representing the Chamber of Commerce, requested that $2,500.00 be included in the
1968 Budget for publicity and cited tne fact that the Budget does include $2,500.00 for Industrial
[DeVelopment.
[The Mayor explained that it was felt that new Industries would benefit all the people in the City,
,\whereas advertising or publicity for tourist ~rade would be~efit a specific segiment.

carried, that the Hearing be continued to October 5, 1967 at'-7: 30 P. M.
