HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 10/05/1964 I I I I Procee~ings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington SPECIAL HEETING October 5 19~ L."HIPI:UNlINGCO.P.2US4~ The City Council met at 4:30 p.m. Officers present were Hayor Willson, Councilmen Maxfield, Thorne Cornell, Wolfe, Bettgcr and Schroeder; Acting Manager Warder, Attorney Moffett and Clerk McNeece. In accordance with statutes governing the public hearing on the budget for 1965 was opened. The Mayor cited the principal change to be made in the budget - addition of a Sewage Treatment Fund. Mr. Ed Taylor protested the transfer of monies from the Elwha Industrial Water Fund to Current Ex- pense Fund, and thought it should belong to the Domestic Water Dept. During the discussion, it was pointed out that this was.a separate system which receives no benefits from the Domestic Water Dept. and that in ctccordance with the opinion rendered by the City Attorney, the money will go into the Water Fund then be transferred, as surplus, from that fund to the Current Expense Fund at the end of the year.,. Chief Kochanek requested that the Police Department budget be changed to read - uniform allowance $80.00 for regular uniformed employees, that the amounts in the budget remain as they are and any adjustments be made at the end of the budget year. The hearing was closed and the following ordinances were approved and adopted: ORDINANCE NO. 1542 AN ORDINANCE approving and adopting the Budget of the City of Port Angeles for the fiscal year 1965. A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Thorne and unanimously carried that the foregoing ordinance be adopted as corrected to include the Sewage Treatment Fund, and that the wording in the Police Dept. Budget be changed to uniform allowance $80.00 for regular uniformed employees as requested by the Police Chief. ORDINANCE NO. 1543 AN ORDINANCE confirming the estimates of expenditures for the City of Port Angeles for the year 1965 and affixing the tax levies for said year as here- tofore made and levied by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles, meeting and sitting for such purpose. A motion by Councilman Wolfe to adopt the foregoing ordinance, was seconded by Councilman Cornell and carried.
