'fhe Commission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M., and was called to order by ~or Epperson. Roll call ,
$howed the following officers present: Mayor Epperson, Commissioners Johnson and Steele, Attorney Wilson,
and Glerk Law. .

!inder the head of applicvions for luilding permits, the following were granted:

Middleton Motor Perts Remodel Storeroom; Lot 6, Blk. 5" Townsite

Under the head of unfinished business and pursuant to notice published, the bids for 600 tons of bituminous
Plant mix-Gless F were opened. Bids submitted were: Washington Asphalt Co., $5.55, Dookside, total
$5,429.90; Peter Kiewit Sons I Co., $6.80 delivered or $5.80 at Elwha plant, total amount of bid delivered
$4;202.40. Bids were referred to Ell81neer Dodge for checking. Recommendation, after checking, was in favor
of-Washington Asphalt Company, and it was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the Washington Asphalt Company I
bid be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Steele. All members voted Aye. Motion carried.

It.was moved by Mayor Epperson that the City Attorney be instructed to draft an Ordinance confirming and 11
adopting the budget for the year 1948, and fixing tax levies for said year 1948 as heretofore made and .
levied by the City Commission meeting for that purpose on th.e 6th. da,y of October 1947. Motion seconded - by 1
Commissioner Johnson. All voted Aye. Motion carried. i

Under the h.ead of new business, the first and final estimate for the month of September, for constzuction of I
sidewalks in L.I.D. No. 150 by A. Contesti, was submitted by ;the City Engineer. Amount of estimate $4,807.57.
It.was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the estimate be approved and paid. Seconded by Commissioner Steele'.
m members voted Aye. Motion carried.

Mr. H. G. Horstman spoke before the Commission regarding rental on three lots at 5rd and Peebody Streets
being used by the City for stockpiling. There having been no previous agreement, it was moved by
'Commissioner Johnson that.a $50.00 per month rental be paid to th.e owner from May 1, 1947, until use of lots
is discontinued. Seconded by Commissioner Steele. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
