Roll call showed the follom.ng officers present: Mayor Beetle, Commissioner Beam, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Ha1'lld ns . the minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for fuilding Permits the following were granted: Orin Kellow, New House, Lot 5, Block 529 , Townsite H. T. Wilson, Remodel House, Lot 20, Block 52, Townsite 2500.00 1200 .00 , Police Judge, W. F. Phillips, reported 90 cases tried and t766.SO collected in fines for the month of September, 1941. Report ordered filed. Under the head of Reports from City Officers, the following were read: October 15, 1941 The the Honorable Mayor and City Commission Port Angeles, Washington Gan tlemen : I herewith submit the second monthly estimate (September) of work done and material fUrnished by the Washington Asphalt Company, contractor on City street Project No. 14, "Laurel, Oak and Cherry Streets". 27,800 Sq. Yds. Preparation Roadway @ $.05 per Sq. Yd. 5,550 Tons Bituminous Cement Plant Mix Type Class F @ $6.55 per Ton Less 15% retained Less Previous Estimate Amount due contractor Plus 5% Sales Tax on Total Contract Total Amount due Contractor Previous Estimate. Dodge, City Engineer $ 1,590.00 21.145.50 22,555.50 5.580.55 19,155.17 14.345.75 4,811.42 676.07 $ 5,487.49 It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the City Engineer's second estimate on City Street Project No. 14, Laurel, Oak and Cherry Streets, be approved and the City Clerk be instruct~d to issue a warrant for the sum of $5,487.49 to the Washington /Asphalt Company in payment of same. Seconded by Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared .the motion carried. Seconded by Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced: RESOWTION WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed, dated October 15, 1941., under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: Lots Six (6), Seven (7), Eight (8) and Nine (9), Block Three Hundred Eighty-nine (589) of the Tmmsite of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, and WHEREAS, Roy S. Jensen and Esther L. Jensen, his wife, have offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of $56.40, and WHEREAS, Ille iCity Commission of Port Angeles has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.LD. assessments, including interest and other charges against the same. NOW, THERI!FORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell too I said property at private sale to the said Roy S. Jensen and Esther L. Jensen, his wife, for the sum I hereina bove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same j that the City IIlttorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby. instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of tbe City of Port Angeles be and he is hereqy instructed to countersign said pit claim deed. It was moved by Commissicner Deam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following ordinances passed their third res dings and were adopted I AN ORDINANCE adopting and approving the City budget of and for the City of Port Angeles for t he fiscal year, 1942, and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Commissioner Besm that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final readinf and adopted. Seconded by Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. AN ORDINANCE confirming the estimates of expenditures for the City of Port "ngeles for the year 1942, and fixing tax levies for said year 1942 as heretofore made and levied by the City Commission meeting and sitting for that purpoae on the 6th d'lf of October, 1941, and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and adopted. Seconded by Mayor Beetle. On roll call all members voted aye.
