Roll call I shawed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioners Beam and Masters, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the fOllowing were granted: F. R. Phillips, Construct Woodshed, Lot 9{ Block 27, N.R. Smith SUbd. Henry Reis, Construct House and Garage, st Lot 17 and 18, Blk. 291, Townsite Dan Lawson, Construct Residence, Lot 12, Block 164, Townsite Clarence -Brown, Soft Drink Clarence Brown, Fountain Lunch Port Angeles Recreation, Soft Drink Port Angeles Recreation, 6 Bowling Alleys Crystal Baths, Bath House Ruby Amusement Co., Distributor' 5 License for Amusement Machines Larrick's Cafe, Location License for Amusement Machine . n, fJ n,. a " Port Angeles Recreation, Location License for !Amusement Machibe 100.00 5000.00 1500.00 3.75 3.75 5.00 60.00 25.00 187 . 50 24.00 18.00 18.00 Under the head of Unfinished Business,- The following ordinance having been introduced, read in full and passed its first reading September 1, 1957, was taken up by the Conmission, read by title and placed on its second reading: AN ORDINANCE granting to Sewerage & Drainage District No. 1 of Clallam County, Washington, its successora and assigns, the right to lay sewer pipes for the drainage and conveyance of water in and along certain streets, alleys and public places in the City of Port Angeles. Under the head of New Business,- A committee of residents of Peabody Heights, south of the Boulevard, met with the Commission and objected to the use of water meters in their district. The Committee declared that the meters made the cost of water used by them excessive, and asked the Comn1ssion to discontinue the use of meters and bill the water used by them on the nat rate plan, or change the price of water on the meter rate. After listening to the various members of the committee and duly considering the matter it was moved by Commissioner Beam that the use of all water meters outside the City limits for private residences be discontinued and that water charges be billed at the flat rate, beginning with a nd including the month of October, 1939. Motion seconded by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all members voted aye.
