The Connnission met in regular session at 10 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
sho~~d the following officers present. Mayor Beetle, Connnissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff
and Clerk Hawkins.
Under the head of applications for building permits and licenses the follovnng were granted:
Olga Anderson, Remodel house, Lot 12, Block 256, Townsite
General Petroleum Corp., oonstruct Service Station. Lots 19 & 20. Blook 14. Townsite
B. Krlieger. Buld House, Lot 13, Block 163. Townsite (..g 1S';!'

J.C. Breitlauch. Master Plumber license

Under the head of introduction of resolutions the following resolution was introduced.
RESOLUTION CANCELLING THAT CERTAIN RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF REAL PROPERTY TO
J. H. WRIGHT
WHEREAS, by authority of that certain resolution adopted May 31. 1939. and reoorded in Volume 20,
Page 50, of the Commissioner's Prooeedings. the City of Port Angeles entered into a sale with
J.H.Wright for the purchase from the City of Port Angeles of the following described real property.
to-wit:
The North 50 feet of Lots Nineteen (19) and Twenty (20), Block One Hundred Twenty-one (121).
Townsite of Port Angeles. Washington. and
WHEREAS. the said J.H.Wright offered to purchase the said above described real property for the sum
of $175.00 on the following terms; $20.00 as a dovm payment and $5.00 on or before the 1st day of
July 1939. and $5.00 on or before the 1st. day of eash and every month thereafter until the total
purchase price is paid in full. Interest to be computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due
and paid vnth the monthly installments; which said offer was accepted by the City Commission and the
sale authorized under the terms and conditions above set forth, and
WHEREAS, the said J.Il.Wright has failed to live up to the terms of the sale as above set forth, as the
total amount that should have been paid at this time is $80.00; of this amount he has only paid $28.21,
leaving a balance due at this time of $51.79, as shown by the records in the City Treasurer's office;
further, the said J.H.Wright ha. not and is not making any effOH.-to take care of the balance due and
has ceased to make any further monthly payments and has abandoned said property, end the city has
retaken possession of the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVl:.'D, that the said resolution above referred to be, and the same is hereby
cancelled and set aside, and the sale of the above described real property to the said J. H. Wright
be and said sale is hereby revoked.
It was moved. by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the Head of Reading and passage of Ordinances the follcwing ordinances were read by title and
placed on their third readings and finally passed and adopted.
AN ORDINANCE, adopting end approving the City budget of and for the City of Port Angeles for the fiscal
year 1941, and declaring an emergency.
It Wll.S moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and
adopted. Seconded by COl'\Jllissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the
Motion carried.
AN ORDINANCE, confirming the estimate,of expenditures for the City of Port Angeles for the year 1941,
and fixing tax levies for said year 1941 as heretofore made and levied by the City Commission meeting
and sitting for that purpose on the 7th. day of October, 1940, and declaring an emergency.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing ordinance be placed cn its final reading and
adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the
motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claim s and ordered warrants drawn for same:
