I -----,~ Honorable Cordell Hull, Secretary of State, Washington, D.C. The principal industry of Port Angeles and the Olympio Penninsula is manufaoture of paper. Present rate of importation of foreign paper is impairing our payrolls and the I economic growth of our oommUni ty. Our papermakers are largely permanent citizens who are now in danger of losing homes if present conditions are allowed to continue. We are alarmed at the rapidity increasing foreign importation of paper and t.he steadily decreasing domestic production and urgently request that you establish a quota which will permit domeatio manufacture of a t least one million five hundred thoullland~ tons of paper annually which is only about bne"half of normal consumption.
