The Commission met in regula:r session at 10 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor
Davis. Roll oall showed the following offioers present: Mayor Davis, Commisilioners
Lutz and Masters. Attorney Plummer and ~lerk Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under head of Applioations for Building Permits and Licenses the following were
granted:
A. A. Castillerain, Build House, Lot 9, Blk. 236, Townsite
Byron Winter, Master Electrician
Nathan Cohen. Second Hand Dealer
Byron's Beauty ~hop, 2 Beauty Parlor ~hairs
Mayme's Beauty Shop, 2 Beauty Parlor chairs

A hearing was held on the application of Guy Burrows (The Peo'ples "econd Hand :$tore)
for a second hand dealer's license, evidenoe was heard from Thos. H. Gyptill and Chas.
Kemp, County Sheriff. After duly considering the matter it was moved by Commissioner
Masters that the said lioense be granted, provided, however, that the said Guy Burrows
oompl9- strictly wi th the laws (i:f the State of ,Iashil:\gton, and a1Jl. ordinances of Port
Angeles governing the operation of seoond hand stbres. Failure to so oomply, then the
said lioense be oancelled as provided by ordinance.
Police Judge ~homas Gei~ness reported 19 oases tried and $119.00 collected in fines
for the month of October, 1935. Report ordered filed.

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions, the follow,illg Resolution was intro-
duoed:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is necessary for the Municipal Water Department of the City of Port
Angeles to make a further provision for emergency water supply in case o~ break in the
,main supply line, and it appears desirable to drill test wells near the ~ity for said
I!purposes and a fair and reasonable contract for the drilling of oertain test wells has
jbeen submitted to the City Commission, '
1 BE IT RESOLVED That the contract fnr drilling test wells offered by N.C. Jsnnsen
(Drilling Company be accepted by the vity of Port angeles far the purposes indicated
jtherein and that the Mayor and City ~lerk be authorized to execute the same in behalf of
jthe City.
~ It was moved by Commissioner Lutz that the foregoing resolution be approved and
!,8dopted. Seoonded by Mayor .iiavis. On roll oall aU memberlJ voted a;ye. The Mayor
,declared the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn
for same:

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION endorsing Proposal No.6 of the Oity of Port .n.ngeles for submission
Ito the Works Progress Administration, guaranteeing mterials and completi'on of said
project.

WHEREAS, The City of Port 4ngeles has submitted to the Works Progress Administra-
tion a projeot designated as "Sponsor's Proposal No.6" for,
1. To make fo r the public library four s tacks for books and magaz ines. To
remodel five stacks. To de some misoellaneous repair work suoh as repairing
roof, staining shelves, repairing plaster.
2. Landsoape and engineering work on library lawn such as drainage, 'replacing
plants, spading.
3. Woman to thoroughly clean the publico-library. Extra cleaning such as olean-
ing~ictures, books, magazines, woodwork, etc.
BE IT RESOLVED That said proJeot be and the same is hereby endorsed and approved
and the funds are available for the purchase of all materials am supplies necessary
for t.he oonstruct:lon contemplated in this project.
BE IT WRTHER RESOLVED That in the event that for any re aso n work upor.l s ai d pro-
j ec t is discontinued by the i"iorka Progress Adminis tration funds shall be made a vallable
by the City of Port "ngeles to complete said project and bring the work to a conclusion..
It was moved by "ommissioner Masters that the fbregoing resolution be approved
and adopted. Seolllnded by ~ommissioner Lutz. On roll oall all member svoted aye. The
Mayor declared the mOtion oarried.
There being no further business the Commission adjourned: to meet Friday, November
