The Commission met in regular session at 10 a .m. and was c aIled to order by Mayor Davis. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioners Beam snd Masters, Attor~ey Conniff
and Cled< Hamcins. .
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following were granted:
Hugo Del Guzzi, Repairs to Building, Lot 5, Blk. 51, N. R. i:>mith SUIld.

Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced:
RESOLUTION
1'illEREAS, The City of Port Angelee is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's Deed dated November 6, 1939, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595
of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:
Lot Seven (7), Block One Hundred Fifteen (115), of the Townsite of Port
Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, RufUs Lester has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above dsscribed real
property for the sum of $50.00, payable as follows: $5.00 as a down payment and the balance of #25.00
to be paid in monthly installments of $2.50 each, the first payment to be made on or ~efore the 15th
day of December, 1939, and $2. 50 on or before the 15th day of each and every month thereafter until paid
in fUll. Interest to be computed on the balance due at the rate of 7% par annum and paid with each monthly
installment, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the Ci~ for said lot, plus all L.I.D. assessments, including
interest and other charges against the same,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Rufus Lester for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to ~
other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City creIl< of the City of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to countsrsign said quit claim deed, when the purchase price and all accrued
interest thereon has been paid in fUll.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the forgoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Masters. on roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following ordinance was read by title and placed
on its third reading, and finally passed and adopted:
AN ORDINANCE providing for the leasing to Puget Sound Navigation Company, a corporation, its successors
or assigns of all that portion of Laurel Street in the City of Port Angeles, WaShington, lying northerly
of the north line of Railroad Avenue, for t he construction, operation and maintenance of a wharf, ware-
house, ferry. slip and approaches.
It was moved by Commissioner Masters thatthe foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and
adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the
motion carried.
Under the head of New Business,-
E. B. O~dfield having completed the payments for Lots 9 and 10, Block 551, TOllJlsite of Port JJ!ngeles,
Washingt~n, under.the provisions of that certain resolution passed by the City Commission July 21, 1957,
and recorded in Vol. 19 of Commissioners' Proceedings, Page 508, requested in writing that the deed to
said property be issued to Hazel 1/. Poland and Fai M. Poland, wife and husband.
Thena being no objection, the City Clerk was instnicted to issue the deed to said property to the said
Hazel M. Poland and Fay M. Poland as requested.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
