The Commission met in regular session at 10 A.M., and was called to order by Mayor Robinson. Roll call
showed the following Officers present: Mayor Robinson, Conmissioners Beam and Masters, Attorney Johnston,
and Clerk Hawkins.
The minutes of the previrr~s session were read and approved.

Police Judge, W. F. Phillips reported that 84 caseS had been tried and $796.50 collected in fines for the
'month .of October, 1945. Report ordered filed.
Under the head 0 f introduction of Ordinances, the following Ordinance was introduced, and passed its first
and second readings:
ORDINANCE
I AN ORDINANCE setting forth an emergency affecting the Port P~'1geles Public Library, requiring expenditures
I unforseen, providing for the issuance of emergency warrants, declaring an."emergency making. this Ordinance
effective immediately.
Under the head of ner, business;: The Hooker Electrochemical Company Contract to furnish Liquid Chlorine to
the City for the Jrear 1946, came before the Commission for approvll1. It was moved by Commissioner Masters I
that the said contract be approved and the Mayor be instructed to sign the same on behalf of the City. :
Seconded by Commissioner Beam. an roll call, all members voted Aye. The If.ayor declared the motion ltarried.;
lfEyor Robinson submitted the foll~,ing named persons for appointment as members of the Civil Service CommisS~
ion: John Henson, for balance of the 6 year term ending Nov. 8, 1949. Murray F. Handall, for balance of I
the 4 year tem ending Nov. 8, 1949._ Paul M. Neer, for balance of the 2 year term ending Nov. 8,194'7. !

It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing appointments be approved and confirmed. Seconded by
Commissioner Masters. On roll call, all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the Motion carried.
A petition signed by Charres N.. Weaster and others petitioning the City COl:unission to vacate the sidewalk and.
parking strip on the North side of Caroline street between Eunice and Francis Streets, being a strip 450 feet
long and 19 feet wide, abutting on the South side of Block 55, Noman R. Smith's Subdivision of the Townsite.

IAfter due consideration, the following Resolution was introduced, fixing the time of hearing said Resolution'.
RESOLUTION
'ViliEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, by more that two-
thirds of the abutting property owners of the portion of the Street hereinafter described, requesting that
said portion of said Street be vacated, and
l1HEREAS, it is necessary that the Commission fix a time and place Ymere said petit~on shall be heard and
determined, and
WtlEREAS, the portion of Street sought to be vacated is the sidewalk and parking strips on the North side of
Caroline Street between Eu~ice and Francis Streets, being a strip 450 feet long arid 19 feet wide, abuttL~g
on the South side of Block 33, Norman R. Smith's Subdivision of the Townsite of Port Angeles.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, that a hearing, on said
petition to vacate said portion of said Street be held at the City Conmission Room of said City of,Port I
Angeles, in the Fire Eall, on Wednesday, the 12th day of December, 1945, at the hour of Eleven 0' clock, A.M.'
It was mo,ed by Commissioner lf~sters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by I
Commissioner Beam. On roll call; all members voted Aye. "The Mayor declared the w.otion carried.
