Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington

The Collllllission met in regular session at 10 A .M. and was calle d to order by lIayor Robinson. Roll call
showed the following officers present: lIayor Robinson, Collll1issioners Beam and Masters, Attorney Johnston
and Clerk Hawkins.
Tha minutes of the pravious sassion wera read and approvad.
Under the haad of Applications for Illlilding Permits the following was granted:
I. K. Peterson, Addition to Garage, Lot 6, Block 297, Townsita
90.00
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Cit:r of Port Ailgeles is the OlrIler of the following described real property having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated November 15, 1945, under and by virtue of the authorit;r of Section 9595
of Remington's Ravised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:
Lot ~o (2), Block Three HUndred Fift;r-tWo (552), Townsite of Port Angeles,
Waahington, and
WHEREAS, Leater L. Wright has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the sum of t1l5.00, and
WHEREAS, The City Conm1ssion has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and thet et this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale
made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles soll the
said property at private sale to the said Lester L. Wright for the sum hereinabove set forth, eubject to
a~ other valid liens against the same; that the Cit:r Attornay be instructed to prepara a quit claim deed
I convaying said property to the purchaser, and that ths City Clerk of the City of Port Angalos be and he is
" hsreby instructed to execute said quit claim daed, and that the !.layor of the Cit:r of Port Angeles be and
. he is heraby inatructed to countersign said quit claim deed.
It was moved by Colllllliasioner Wastsrs that the foregoing resolution be approved andadopted. Seconded
by Meyor Robinson. On roll cell all mambers voted aye. 1'he Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances ths following ordinances passed their third raad1ngs
and were finall:r adoptad,
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles providing for the adoption by reference of the provisions of
Part 6, Book V, Rules and Regulations of the State Board of Health, as revised and adopted April 24, 1942,
and providing for the issuance of permits for the operation of a~ place for the handling of food within
the City of Port Angeles, and providing penalties.
It was moved by ColllDlisaioner lIaeters that ths forsgoing ordinance be placed .on its final rsading and
adopted. Seconded by I.!ayer Robinson; On roll call all members votedl\Y8. The \layor declared the motion
carried.
AN ORDINANCE creating a "lIotor Vehicle Excise Fomn.
It "as moved by Commissioner Wasters that the foregoing ordinancs be placed on its final reading and
adoptad. Secondad by llayer Robinson. On roll call all members voted aye. The lIayor declared the motion
carried.
Under the baed of Na" llusinass:
It appearing that certain people living outside the city limits south of Lauridsen Boulevard, west of the
Reservoir, have requested the City to install new water serncaa for1heir use, and it further appesring
that all the water that can be supplied by tha water system ie all naeded by the residants living within
tbe City l1m1 ts. It was therefore moved by lIayl11' Robinson that on account of insufficient water supply
no further water sanices be installed for people living outsida the city limits, south of Lauridsen
~ulavard, west of the Reservoir. Seconded by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all mambers voted aye.
~e Kayor declared tbe motion carried.
s. C. Tozier having assigned his interest in and to Lots 11 and 12, Block 421, Townsits of Port Angeles
to Ra8lllllS Sorensen, requested in writing that "hen the contracts of sala ara completed ths deeds be issued
to Rasmus Soransan. The sale of the abova described property was euthorizad by resolution datad July 30,
1941, and racorded in Vol. 20 of Colllll1ssionars' Procaedingll on paga 515. Thera being no objections tbe
. City Clerk was instructed to issue the deeds to said property to Rasmus Soreneen as requested wben all tbI
terms of the sale are complated.
Tbe Commission believing that all city insurance expiring December I, 1943, should be re-written on bids
from the nrious agents of tha city, it was moved by !layer Robinson that the City Cle rk be instructed to
issue a call for re-writing said insurance. A description of the prol(lllrty to be insured can be had at
the City Enginear's office. Bids to be on file in the City Clerk's office not later then 10 o'clock A.M.,
November 50, 1945. The City Comssion reserves the right to reject a~ and all bids. Motion seconded by
Commissionsr IIasters. On roll call all members voted aye. The lIayor declared the motion carried.
