IThe City Commission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. and was called to order by Nayor Feeley.
Present were Mayor Feeley, Commissioners Robinson and Taylor, Attorney Trumbull, and Clerk Law.

Under t he head of unfinished business, Cornrrcissioner Taylor advised that bids to furnish valves for the
~.,atel' department have been given due consideration, and the Rensselaer valve offered by the E. N Hallgren
ICo,. being of heavier construction, it would be eood business and to the advantage of the City to purchase
Itile. same. It was moved by Commissioner Taylor that the bid for valves submitted by the E. ". Hallgren Co.

~h~ Engineer advised that the 30 day period has elapsed since acceptance of work done ana material furnished
,by.A. V. Casilio for curbs and gutters on East Tenth Street, being 1.1.0. No. 159. "Iso recommended that the

One. bid was received from R. A. Turner for the purchase of Lots 11 and 12, Block 153, Townsfte, in amount
~f ~200.00. This being the minimum amount fixed, it was moved by Mayor Feeley that the bid be accepted and
property sold. Seconded by Commissioner Robinson. All voted l;ye. !-lotion carried.

It was moved by Cor.missioner Taylor that the matter be referred to the Attornay. Seconded by Commissioner
itobinson. All voted A.ye. Motion carried.

[he. Attorney reported regarding request of Don Wickersham to operate a radio repair shop on Lincoln Street
in :the First Residence District. The Attorney advised that the Local' Option proviso is limited to Apartment
:ho,^ses in the First Residence District and sees no Fossibility of changing status o'f th'e said di'strict. It I
was moved by COIrunissioner Robinson that the matter be referred to the Planning Comnission for their action
'favorably or othennse re!'jarding amending the Zoning Ordinance, thereby changing certain boundaries of the
rU~iness District. Motion seconded qy ~~yor Feeley. All voteJ Aye. Kotion carried.
The Light Superintendent reported regarding traffic liEh t installation at Eighth and Race :;treets. Also
'informed that signal has been ordered at approximate cost of $180.00.

No., 17, making possible the p'J'IIlent of contribution granted by the City for conducting the Recreational
'program. It Has moved by Commissioner Taylor t hat the agreement be approved as drawn. Seconded oy
'Commissioner Robinson. All voted Aye. Motion carried.

Commissioner Taylor opened discussion concerning hazards of logging trucks on "treets and safet:v measure
'necessary for protection of other traffic. Chief Ide advised that rerouting schould eliminate most cf the
:log dumping as practically all of the accidents are caused by short turns. Also cited necessity for safety
iinsr.-ection of all equipment and suggested that the matter be taken up with the State Highway Inspection
TIepart~ent. Cornnussioner Taylor requested that the Commission take action regarding adoption of the
,\state Code of 1937 as aI:lended in 1943 and moved that an investigation be referred to the Folice Chief am
ifEngineer's Department. Motion seconded bj.r Commissioner Robinson. All voted Aye. Motion carried.

Under the head of introduction and reading of Ordinances,' the folloHing were read by title and placed on
first ahd second reading:

It was moved by Commissioner Robinson that the foregoing Ordinance be passed first and second reading.
Seoonded by Jf.ayor Feeley. All' voted Aye. Notion carried.

AN ORDINANCE confirraing the estimates of expenditures for the City of Port Angeles for the year 1952, and
fixing tax levies for said year as heretofore made and levied by the City Conunission of the City of Port
Angeles meeting and sitti,ng for such purpose on the 1st day of Octobe 1', 1951, and declaring an emergency,

Seconded by Commissioner Taylor. All vot ed Aye. Motion carried.
