P.242S4 ~ IThe City Council met in regular session at 7:30 P.M, Officers present were: Maypr Richardson, Councilmen Smith, Sandison, Maxfield, Thorne, Randall and Caldwell, Manager Slankard, Attorney Moffett and Clerk Law. I I It was moved by Councilman Thorne that minutes of the previous session be approved. , Seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. Under the head of unfinished business, the appointment of Donald Lutz as a member on the Library Board of Trustees was resonsfdered. The Attorney advised that Legislation pro- vides a member shall not serve more than two consecutive terms. It was moved by Cuuncil- man Randall that appointment be postponed for further consideration until the next meetin Seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. Due to Legal phraseology, the Ordinance providing installation of coaxial TV cable by Jack Chapman was not placed on final reading. Under the head of new business, the following reports were approved: Treasurer's finan- cial report, Budget reports of receipts and exp~nditures, It was moved by Councilman Smith that reports be approved and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried. Claims payable were approved in amounts as follows: General Funds, $6,707.47. Water Fund ! $1,203.24. Light Fund $7,736.68. It was moved by Councilman Maxfield that all claims be approved and paid. Seconded by Councilman Sandison and carried. It was moved by Councilman Randall that call for bids be published for the sale of Muni- cipal Water Revenue Bonds. Motion seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. The Mayor announced a meeting of the American Municipal Association in Denver, Colorado. I It was suggested that this City be represented by Councilman Smith and the Manager. Councilman Randall questioned the advisability of the City paying the expense of sending two delegates. It was the opinion of Councilmen Thorne and Caldwell that sending the two officials would be benefit to Municipal operation and the City would profit by the same. It was moved by Councilman Caldwell that both delegates represent the City at the Associ- ation meeting. Seconded by Councilamn Maxfield. All members voted Aye except Councilman Randall, his vote being opposed. Motion carried. The Council accepted a petition requesting the vacation of a portion of Alder Street from the South margin of Second Street to'the Northerly margin of the alley between Fourt and Fifth Streets. It was moved by Councilman Smith that petition be referred to the Planning Commission. Seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried. Dale Dow, 425~ East Front Street read a petition by the Downtown Parking Association,Inc. asking the City for cooperation and funds to promote an Origin and Destination survey for~ the improvement of parking facilities, It was moved by Councilman Smith that the petitiol be referred to the Planning Commission for study and recommendations. Seconded by Counei - man Thorne and carried. I Al Clevenger asked the Council to consider increasing the speed limit on West:Fifth"andr "I" Street Hill to 35 miles per hour. The Police Chief will investigate and report at th next meeting. Under the head of introduction and reading of Ordinances, the following was introduced and rea~in full: ORDINANCE NO. 1443 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles amending Ordi- nance No. 1330 and adopting an amended building code. Tt was moved by Councilman Caldwell that the foregoing Ordinance as read be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried. No other business appearing, the meeting was adjourned. (J.
